Cronos: The New Dawn features seven distinct weapons that players can discover while navigating the haunting ruins of Poland. As a survival horror experience, securing these weapons is crucial for your chances of survival.
In this genre, it’s important to recognize that the effectiveness of weapons varies significantly. Some weapons outshine others, providing players with better odds when facing challenges. So, which of these are the top contenders for ensuring your survival?
Let’s delve into each weapon available in Cronos: The New Dawn, assessing their strengths and weaknesses to determine the best choices for your survival strategy.
7 Lance REV-1411
Your Ranged Option

The Lance REV-1411 is designed as a long-range counterpart to the Javelin, functioning as a three-round burst rifle. However, its necessity for continuous charging can become a liability.
During intense encounters, when close proximity to enemies is common, utilizing the Lance can be impractical. Coupled with its wide spread, successfully landing all three shots is often challenging, making this weapon less desirable.
6 Female JER-5120
Two-Shots, Reload

The Mace JER-5120, a double-barrel variant of the basic shotgun, Hammer PROV-2030, can excite players early on. Initially promising, its practical use diminishes quickly.
This shotgun fires both rounds simultaneously, offering substantial damage; however, with only two shots per clip, frequent reloading becomes a vulnerability, leaving players exposed to attacks.
5 Arablast MT-1020
A Very Big Boom

The Arablast MT-1020 serves as the game’s “nuclear option.”This weapon requires a significant charging time, but its resulting explosion creates a broad area of effect that can decimate foes.
Ideal for boss battles, this weapon unfortunately becomes available rather late in the game, limiting its utility against numerous adversaries. Its charging requirement leaves players vulnerable, compounded by scarce ammunition availability.
4 Sword MK-1615
Average and Consistent

The Sword MK-1615 stands as the starting pistol and, despite being readily available, can accompany players throughout their journey without fail. I relied on this handgun diligently, and it consistently performed well.
With a respectable fire rate and upgrade potential for increased damage, this weapon also features a charged shot option, allowing players to penetrate multiple enemies at once. This pistol remains an invaluable backup option throughout the game.
3 Javelin LK-102
Rapid Fire

Introducing the Javelin LK-102, a standout weapon in the game that I particularly favor. This close-range alternative to the Lance is superior in multiple aspects.
Its effectiveness at medium to close range alleviates concerns about nearby enemies. Furthermore, it boasts two firing modes—rapid three-round bursts and a full-auto mode activated via charging—allowing for versatility in combat.
With enhancements, the Javelin becomes an outstanding weapon choice, consistently delivering excellent results in various combat scenarios.
2 Hammers PROV-2030
The Spread

The Hammer PROV-2030 has earned its spot as a reliable option early in the game. This semi-automatic shotgun performs admirably, consistently delivering satisfactory results.
Upgraded with a five-round magazine, it offers ample ammunition and an impressive spread that allows for efficient crowd control. Similar to the Sword, it can be charged to enhance its damage further, while still allowing for quick-firing in dire situations, making it a well-rounded weapon for any confrontation.
1 Dagger PS-3713
More Consistent Than Consistent

Ultimately, the Dagger PS-3713 emerges as the most potent weapon available in the game. Serving as an upgraded version of the Sword, it showcases unparalleled versatility.
This automatic pistol allows players to fire single shots or unleash a steady stream of bullets at a controlled pace. It delivers consistently higher damage than both the Sword and Javelin, making it an essential piece of armament.
If there’s one weapon to rely on in Cronos: The New Dawn, it is undoubtedly the Dagger.
