Ranking All Marvel Rivals Maps from Worst to Best

Ranking All Marvel Rivals Maps from Worst to Best

In team-based shooters, the importance of playable heroes can’t be overstated; however, it is the maps that can truly influence the gameplay experience. Marvel Rivals is no different in this regard.

Upon its release, the game features eight meticulously designed maps tailored for objective-driven modes. Additionally, a ninth map is available exclusively for the arcade-style Deathmatch, which, while entertaining, is largely a simple battleground for heroes to clash.

8 Yggsard – Royal Palace

Domination

Yggsard - Royal Palace (Domination)

The Royal Palace map suffers from a cramped layout that detracts from the overall enjoyment. The static objective point in the Domination mode does little to alleviate the frustration found in this confined space. Characters like Iron Man may feel hampered, as their abilities are stifled within this setting.

In summary, playing Royal Palace can be a disheartening affair, and it’s a map that many players would likely choose to avoid.

7 Hydra Chateris Base – Hell’s Heaven

Domination

Hydra Chateris Base - Hell's Heaven (Domination)

Another indoor Domination map, Hydra Chateris Base attempts to distinguish itself with dynamic components within its design. While this may add an element of surprise, it ultimately feels more gimmicky than immersive.

This map may not be the worst, but it lacks the polish seen in others, making it a title that players might not actively seek out.

6 Tokyo 2099 – Shin Shibuya

Convergence

Tokyo 2099 - Shin Shibuya (Convergence)

While ShinShibuya is noticeably more restrictive than other outdoor maps, its design works in harmony with the game mode, which blends Domination and Convoy elements. Unfortunately, the layout tends to feel more aesthetically pleasing than functional, leaving players yearning for more depth in gameplay dynamics.

5 Tokyo 2099 – Spider-Islands

Convoy

Tokyo 2099 - Spider-Islands (Convoy)

Spider-Islands successfully addresses the shortcomings found in its predecessor by integrating environmental elements into the gameplay experience. The destructible features serve as both advantageous positioning and effective diversions, enhancing tactical options as players maneuver through enemy territory.

This map is a highlight, showcasing the benefits of verticality and providing engaging combat opportunities.

4 Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda – Birnin T’Challa

Domination

Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda - Birnin T’Challa (Domination)

This particular Domination map stands out due to its thoughtful design, offering both long-range engagements and close-quarters combat opportunities. Characters can seamlessly adapt to their surroundings, encouraging a diverse range of strategies.

Despite my general aversion to Domination maps, Birnin T’Challa rises above the rest, providing an enjoyable playing experience.

3 Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda – Hall of Djalia

Convergence

Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda - Hall of Djalia (Convergence)

Hall of Djalia provides a thrilling gameplay experience as it transitions from outdoor to indoor environments without breaking the action. The proactive gameplay mechanics employed in this map keep players on edge, consistently heightening the intensity of encounters.

Remarkable choke points amplify the thrill, delivering a sense of urgency as teams engage in closely contested battles.

2 Yggsard – Yggdrasil Path

Convoy

Yggsard - Yggdrasil Path (Convoy)

Yggdrasil Path shines due to its excellent sightlines and engaging destructible environments. These elements significantly influence the flow of combat, making environment manipulation a viable strategy. Players can often turn the tide of battle by altering the terrain, showcasing the importance of tactical adaptation.

1 Klyntar – Symbiotic Surface

Convergence

Klyntar - Symbiotic Surface (Convergence)

Klyntar – Symbiotic Surface encapsulates everything enjoyable about gameplay in Marvel Rivals. The map seamlessly combines an initial objective in a pit arena with diverse combat engagements across various settings. Every inch of Klyntar encourages exploration, rewarding players with unique vantage points and tactical opportunities.

Whether sneaking behind enemy lines or engaging in direct confrontation, every hero can shine, ensuring a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.
