Since its launch, AMD’s RX 9070 XT has maintained impressive sales momentum, becoming a hot commodity worldwide.
RX 9070 XT Outshines RTX 5070 Ti: Selling Over 100 Units in a Day
The swift sellout of the Radeon RX 9070 series post-launch came as no surprise, marking a significant achievement for AMD. For the first time, the company has not only surpassed its own previous generations but has also eclipsed NVIDIA’s sales figures, achieving a tenfold increase over its last series. Retailers report a surge in sales, with demand for the RX 9070 XT soaring.
In Germany, Mindfactory, a leading retailer, has witnessed remarkable sales of the RX 9070 XT. Various models are available, starting at €795, which includes VAT. Without VAT, prices range from approximately US$715 to US$764, exceeding the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).Nevertheless, numerous units have been sold for each model on just the first day of the week.

On Monday alone, the RX 9070 XT was reported to have sold around 105 units across various models, including the XFX RX 9070 XT Quicksilver and PowerColor RX 9070 XT Hellhound. Here’s the sales breakdown:
- PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Hellhound: 40 units
- PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Quicksilver: 20 units
- XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Mercury RGB OC: 30 units
- XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Mercury RGB OC White: 20 units
- XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Mercury Magnetic Air RGB OC: 10 units
This brings the total sales figures to approximately 110 units, thanks to additional sales reported on the same day. In contrast, the NVIDIA RTX 50 series GPUs have combined for much lower sales figures, with the RTX 5070 Ti—its direct competitor—achieving only 10 units sold. Priced between $250-$300 above the RX 9070 XT, the RTX 5070 Ti, while slightly more powerful, struggles to provide better value compared to AMD’s offering.

Interestingly, the GeForce RTX 5090, despite being touted as the top-performing GPU, managed only 20 units sold. This model’s high price point, currently listed at €2, 990 (or US$2, 690 without VAT), has likely limited its sales. While it has previously seen retail prices exceeding $3, 000 in several regions, limited availability and high costs hinder its accessibility compared to the RX 9070 series.
As the week progresses, the full scope of the GPU market’s performance will come into view, but indications already suggest that the RX 9070 XT is poised to dominate.
