While AMD has maintained its position with the highly acclaimed RDNA 4 GPU series, NVIDIA is rapidly closing the gap with its recent 60-class graphics offerings.
Impressive Sales Figures for AMD & NVIDIA GPUs in Week 18
The Radeon RX 9070 XT has emerged as a standout success in AMD’s GPU lineup, achieving remarkable sales numbers in various markets. Despite its price point being significantly higher than its original MSRP, consumers are often left with no choice but to opt for this model instead of the pricier RTX 5070 Ti.
Recent statistics from Mindfactory illustrate this trend, revealing that the Radeon RX 9070 XT sold a notable 355 units over the past week. Traditionally leading the sales charts, it remains ahead even with the introduction of the RTX 5060 Ti. Although it’s still too early to firmly establish market trends, the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB variant has experienced favorable sales since its launch just two weeks ago.

As one of Germany’s largest retailers of computer components, Mindfactory offers invaluable insight into consumer preferences, although it doesn’t paint a complete picture of the overall market. Notably, the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB’s performance has been disappointing, with fewer than 10 units sold within the entire week. In contrast, the newly released RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB has achieved impressive sales, surpassing 250 units since its debut.

The RTX 5060 Ti’s sales numbers have significantly outperformed other models in the RTX 50 series, due in part to the higher price tags associated with the 70-class GPUs and above. Nevertheless, the RTX 5080 has also performed well, moving 135 units this past week. The remaining cards from the RTX 50 series lag behind, capturing fewer sales.
Interestingly, the RX 7800 XT has emerged as one of the most successful GPUs from the prior generation, likely due to its appealing price relative to the RX 9070 series, along with its generous VRAM of 16 GB.
As we head into the future, it’s evident that 8 GB GPUs are falling out of favor, as is demonstrated by the underwhelming sales of the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB. It stands to reason that a similar fate may also await the RX 9060 XT 8 GB model. Additionally, statistics reveal that consumers are showing a preference for Intel’s ARC B570 and B580 models over the RTX 4060 Ti, indicating that VRAM capacity is becoming a crucial factor in decision-making.
