The AMD Radeon RX 7400 graphics card has been making headlines recently, particularly as it seems to be approaching its official market release.
Dell Introduces AMD Radeon RX 7400 in Pro Tower Plus Desktop Featuring Core Ultra 7 vPRO CPU; Possible OEM Exclusivity
Recent developments indicate that the Radeon RX 7400 may soon become available, primarily in enterprise configurations rather than for mainstream retail customers. Dell has recently integrated this GPU into its new Pro Tower Plus desktop, suggesting it might be reserved for specific OEM distributions. Reports have circulated regarding the RX 7400’s specifications, including a mention of its presence in AIDA64’s database roughly a month ago. Despite being in development for quite some time, this GPU has only now begun to surface in official channels.
As part of the RX 7000 series, the Radeon RX 7400 is built on the RDNA 3 architecture. Notably, this series did not launch a GPU weaker than the RX 7600, which contrasts with the RX 6000 series that included lower-end models such as the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT. Although earlier leaks have hinted at the existence of the RX 7300, the focus has shifted to the RX 7400, as it is primarily designed for desktop PCs.

While there is still uncertainty surrounding the possibility of OEM exclusivity, the deployment of the RX 7400 in Dell’s latest Pro Tower Plus desktop, which features the Intel Core Ultra 7 265 vPro processor, strongly suggests this direction. Initial specifications reveal that the RX 7400 will offer an improved 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, doubling the memory capacity of the RX 6400, which had only 4 GB. The GPU will also include four DisplayPorts, as referenced on the official University of Toronto, Scarborough website.
According to various sources, the Radeon RX 7400 is expected to utilize the same NAVI 33 die as the RX 7600. However, it will feature a more limited configuration, with fewer shaders and likely a 64-bit bus width, akin to the specifications of the RX 6500 XT. Current details regarding the pricing of the Dell Pro Tower Plus QBT1250 model and its availability remain unclear, but with the proximity of its official launch, enthusiasts eagerly await further updates.
