Rachel Leviss reveals people ‘apologising’ in her DMs, gives an update on returning to Vanderpump Rules
During an interview with E! News at the iHeart Awards on April 1, Rachel Leviss discussed receiving apologetic direct messages. She revealed that following her explanation on her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, which airs on iHeart Radio, fans have been sending messages expressing remorse.
After explaining herself on the podcast, she noticed a change in the way people who had been shy around her before, due to her cheating with her best friend Ariana Madix’s boyfriend Tom Sandoval, began to understand her better. She shared,
“I have gotten a lot of DMs, people apologizing for bashing me and saying, now listening to your podcast, I’ve learned more about the situation and I was too quick to judge and I just want to send you some love and encouragement so that’s been really nice.”
During the interview, she was also questioned about the possibility of returning to TV. She responded by stating that she would never entertain the idea of participating in a show like Vanderpump Rules.

Rachel shared that the podcast also made her feel empowered as it provided a healing outlet for her to open up about her experiences and share what she had learned from her journey on Vanderpump Rules. She added,
“Hopefully helping other people who have been through abusive relationships, toxic friend groups that can relate to what I’m talking about.”
During the interview, Rachel Leviss discussed her potential return to television and was questioned about her plans for a comeback. She stated that she would never even entertain the idea if it involved a show similar to Vanderpump Rules. However, she did mention the possibility of returning to a more “ethical”show, as she elaborated by saying,
“I think there is a way we could create ethical reality TV, and I think if we keep working towards that and seeing what that might look like, maybe in the future I will.”
During the interview, she emphasized her prioritization of both her physical and mental well-being, stating,
“I’ve been diving right into hot yoga. I do hot yoga twice a week. I’m doing pilates, hiking, staying really active so that my mind doesn’t go spinning and I’m not scrolling on Instagram or anything, and then creating a good community. I am almost a year sober. I’ll be a year sober on Wednesday, so it’s a huge accomplishment and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come.”

The recording was a screen recording of a private conversation between Tom and Rachel, which revealed his long-term affair with her. Since then, the Vanderpump Rules cast has been divided as they struggle to come to terms with Tom’s treatment of both Ariana Madix and Rachel Leviss.
After her affair with Tom Sandoval was exposed, Rachel Leviss endured the stress of filing a lawsuit due to the unauthorized distribution of her explicit recording to Ariana’s friends. The traumatic experience greatly impacted her mental well-being, leading her to seek therapy. Additionally, she faced significant backlash and ultimately decided to leave Vanderpump Rules season 11, while her fellow cast members remained on the show.
