On October 25, 2025, Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, was apprehended on accusations linked to an alleged “Murder-For-Hire scheme”targeting the rapper Quando Rondo. Authorities have pointed out connections between Durk and five individuals who were federally charged in California.
Currently, Durk remains detained without bail at Broward County Jail, where prosecutors assert relationships between his OTF record label and the murder of Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab.
Following this news, on October 26, Quando Rondo unveiled a fresh track titled “Life Goes On”on streaming platforms, and accompanying it was an official music video on his YouTube channel that rapidly garnered over 200,000 views.
“Beefing with the same color on my skin, same color of the hammer / Young n—-s ’round here beefing ’bout the color of a bandana / That’s why I put my flag down and I picked up a Quran / Because (Life goes on) life goes on”- Quando delivers on ‘Life Goes On’.
After DJ Akademiks posted a snippet of the music video on Instagram, a flurry of comments from fans and critics emerged, suggesting that “Life Goes On”could be a veiled jab at Lil Durk and his associates in Only The Family.
One commenter noted that it seemed as though Quando Rondo had effectively “taken out”the entire OTF label, referencing his involvement in the shooting that led to King Von’s death and surviving an attempted hit allegedly ordered by Lil Durk.
“Quando Rondo really took out OTF by himself. Von and Durk both gone. Who would ever think he would win the war?”- said the user.
“This ain’t gonna do nothing but boost his buzz even more; he’s so underrated,”- added another fan.
The timing of Rondo dropping a new track just a day after Lil Durk’s arrest in Florida has prompted many fans to share the song on X (formerly Twitter), applauding Rondo’s “mature lyricism”in “Life Goes On,”where he reflects on themes of grief, gang violence, mortality, and spirituality.
“Quando is hated for no reason! He’s so genuine, and I truly believe he is trying to live a better life and sees no reason to continue killing and fighting,”- a fan expressed.
“His mindset since everything went down, even his music, has all matured,”- stated another follower.
Additionally, fans speculated about potential subliminal disses directed at Lil Durk and his Grammy-winning hit “All My Life,” noting the similarity with the children’s choir backing vocals featured in Rondo’s record.
“That ‘Life Goes On’ reminds me of ‘All My Life’,”- a user pointed out.
“Quando’s indirect hit to Lil Durk. Kids in the background, just like in ‘All My Life’.”
Prosecutors allege that Lil Durk orchestrated an assassination attempt on Quando Rondo
According to recently unsealed court documents, it is alleged that Lil Durk was involved in incentivizing a hit on Quando Rondo, who is also known as Tyquian Bowman, as retribution for the 2020 murder of King Von.
The authorities further claim that his record label, OTF, operates not only as a hip-hop collective but also as a criminal street gang carrying out violent acts at the behest of Durk, particularly concerning Rondo’s thwarted assassination.
Although Quando survived a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 2022, his cousin Lul Pab, who was with him in a black Cadillac, tragically did not survive the gunfire.
The recent indictments revealed five men allegedly linked to Durk’s OTF, identified as Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.
As stated in the new legal filings, prosecutors assert that Lil Durk was responsible for orchestrating the assassination attempt on Quando, emphasizing:
“At the time of the murder, T.B.,” referring to Rondo by his initials, “was publicly feuding with Banks. This feud originated from a Nov. 6, 2020, killing, wherein an associate of T.B. shot and killed an OTF artist named Dayvon Bennett, also known as ‘King Von.’ Bennett was a member of OTF and a close friend of Banks.”
Federal investigators also allege that those implicated in the assassination attempt on Quando Rondo utilized credit cards associated with Lil Durk’s OTF record label to book their flights and cover expenses while in California.
As of now, Lil Durk and his legal team have not made any public comments regarding the recent arrest and the slew of allegations against him and his record label.
