During Monday’s 124-111 victory against the New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns’ guard Devin Booker demonstrated an exceptional performance on the offensive end, scoring an impressive 52 points. The All-Star player attributed his scoring surge to the support and inspiration from his family.
Booker’s incredible display of skill represented the fifth-highest-scoring game of his career. This win puts the Suns in a tantalizingly close position to the Pelicans, as they now trail by only one game for the coveted No. 6 playoff spot in the fiercely competitive Western Conference.
Following the game, D-Book was asked about the significance of playing in New Orleans and he responded:
“I have a lot of family here. They’ve been showing up and showing out since my rookie year. You always have to put on something special for them.”
Despite a discouraging 128-103 loss to OKC Thunder on Friday evening, the Suns (44-31) showed tremendous progress in closing the margin with New Orleans (45-30).
The second match between the two teams is scheduled to occur in Phoenix on Sunday, giving the Suns another chance to keep chasing their goals.

In the first quarter, Booker had an explosive start, scoring 24 points with only nine field goal attempts. He notably made 8 out of 9 shots from behind the arc.
