Purifying the Manabound Arbor Botanical Garden: A Guide from Atelier Yumia

Purifying the Manabound Arbor Botanical Garden: A Guide from Atelier Yumia

In various regions and sub-regions, players encounter unique points of interest that must be engaged with to purify mana effectively. These interactions are vital for progression in the game.

During the early stages of the storyline in Atelier Yumia, one of the first significant tasks is the purification of the Dux Lighthouse, which introduces this essential gameplay mechanic.

A range of manabound areas exist, each requiring purification, and among them, the Arbor Botanical Garden stands out due to its intriguing puzzle that players must solve before purification can occur.

Now, let’s delve into the steps needed to purify the Arbor Botanical Garden to ensure you maintain your momentum in the game.

Location of Arbor Botanical Garden

The Arbor Botanical Garden is intrinsically linked to the main questline, distinguishing it from other manabound areas that may not directly relate to narrative progression. Consequently, players will naturally encounter this location during their journey.

Situated in the Ligneus Region adjacent to the Rhizoma Thicket, accessing the Arbor Botanical Garden might pose a challenge due to its obscured pathways, largely hidden by towering trees. Players might navigate a convoluted route as they try to locate it.

Given the rugged terrain and lack of climbing mechanics, players will have to depend on their double jump ability to overcome tricky ascents and reach this destination.

However, there’s a more efficient route to consider. By heading to the zipline located to the right of the Rhizoma Thicket on the map, players can easily connect to the Arbor Botanical Garden once they repair the zipline.

Since you only need to fix the zipline near the Margo Woodlands, it will significantly simplify your journey to reach this crucial point of interest.

Removing the Barrier

To proceed with the purification, you will need to solve a simple mini-puzzle within the Arbor Botanical Garden.

For this puzzle, you must locate two cubes and place them on their designated pressure plates. The first cube can be found in a building to the left, which also contains a locked chest.

Next, move to the room on the right to find a red cube. In order to unlock the aforementioned chest, use your gun to shoot at three lights dispersed in the vicinity.

However, direct placement of the cube on the pressure plate is restricted by a locked gate. To gain access, you must activate the switch located in the room.

Once the gate is open, retrieve the cube and place it onto the pressure plate to proceed.

For the second cube, return to the platform, where you will find it conveniently placed to the left. Thankfully, this part is straightforward and does not require any intricate mechanics.

After positioning both cubes correctly, the barrier obstructing your progress will dissipate. If you are unsure about locating the cubes, simply follow the visible wave-like line protruding from the pedestal, which serves as a helpful guide.

An interesting observation is that you are not compelled to wait for the questline to lead you to this area; I successfully purified the Arbor Botanical Garden prior to being directed there by the main storyline. Thus, feel free to attempt this at your convenience.
