Exciting Mod Release for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
This week, well-known modder PureDark unveiled a new AMD FSR 3 mod for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. As is customary, access to this mod requires a subscription to his Patreon, and PureDark himself cautioned his followers regarding the upcoming official updates:
Note that the devs have announced that future updates will include official FSR3 implementation. Think twice before subscribing!
Future Updates from Developers
In conjunction with the release of the second title update, developers MachineGames confirmed plans to incorporate AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution in an upcoming patch. However, whether this will also include the frame generation feature remains uncertain—a feature that PureDark’s mod includes and significantly enhances performance.
Enhanced Performance on Steam Deck
Remarkably, this mod is compatible with portable devices like Valve’s Steam Deck. YouTuber Grown Up Gaming conducted a performance evaluation and observed an increase from 20-25 frames per second to approximately 40 FPS when set to the Quality upscaling option. Switching to Performance mode yielded an additional 10 frames but at the expense of visual fidelity.
It is quite impressive that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle even runs on the Steam Deck since the game requires hardware ray tracing support, which the Deck struggles to deliver.
Alternative Gaming Solutions
If I were in need of mobile gaming, my preference would lean toward using GeForce NOW for cloud streaming, allowing me to enjoy ray tracing features with smooth gameplay. For desktop users who might lack an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPU, PureDark’s mod presents a valuable solution to effectively double frame rates at no additional cost.
Game Overview
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an outstanding action-adventure title that captivates players with one of the finest Indiana Jones narratives, intricate level designs that encourage exploration, and stunning ray-traced graphics. This game might just be the pinnacle of Indiana Jones-themed entertainment to date.
Upcoming Content
Players can also anticipate a story DLC titled The Order of the Giants, although a release date has yet to be announced.
