However, their initial triumph is short-lived, as Magatsu banishes the Prayer Children to the end of time, leaving Towa to muster her strength alone while the village remains frozen in temporal stasis.

Dual Gameplay Mechanics

The gameplay is characterized by two main segments. In the village, Towa can engage in various activities like interacting with villagers to acquire items, unlocking their backstories, and upgrading characters. Once she steps outside the village, players can select one Prayer Child as the Tsurugi, the active combat role, and another as the Kagura, who utilizes spells and special abilities.

Character Dynamics: Tsurugi vs. Kagura

The Tsurugi role emerges as the most influential, as players can effectively switch between two distinct sword types—the Honzashi and Wakizashi—to optimize damage during combat. Each character boasts unique attack styles that contribute to a dynamic play experience. For instance, Rekka delivers sweeping strikes with her Honzashi, while her Wakizashi performs a rapid area attack.
