“Pretty Ironic Coming from You” — Azealia Banks’ Controversial Comments on Camila Cabello Spark Internet Reactions

On October 2, singer Azealia Banks faced backlash after a controversial tweet. When a fan inquired about her favorite Camila Cabello song, Banks replied:

“I don’t know a single one. Something about the shape of her head that just gives me forcep baby. I don’t think she’s pretty or talented.”

In a subsequent tweet, Azealia stated:

“She gives me booger eater vibes. sunny delight and tooth decay.”

Such remarks did not resonate well with social media users, who responded by criticizing Banks. Many users took to the platform to express their disdain, while others found her comments amusing.

“Pretty ironic coming from you cos who tf are you??”a user remarked.

Another user tweeted:

“That’s exactly how I feel about you.”

“I wish someone would assist you with a career cos at this point, you seeking so much attention,”commented another.

“The real question is r u pretty or talented?”added a tweet.

Amid the backlash, some tweets highlighted the humor in Azealia’s comments about Camila:

“NOW AZEALIA 😂😂. Forcep baby has me in shambles.”a netizen wrote.

Azealia Banks Attacks Madonna Before Criticism of Camila Cabello

Just days prior, Azealia Banks also targeted Madonna following Katy Perry’s praise of the pop icon while promoting her latest album 143. Perry referred to Madonna as “the greatest,”crediting her with paving the way for many younger female artists.

“When I talk to younger artists, I tell them that every female singer should continue to thank Madonna because she continues to break down barriers. I’m 40 years old and I can continue dedicating myself to music thanks to Madonna.”Katy Perry added.

Azealia quickly responded with her dissent, providing a list of several artists she believed didn’t owe their success to Madonna.

This list included Beyoncé, Grace Jones, Björk, Céline Dion, and Missy Elliott. Banks remarked:

“I can say that I have never, at any time in my life, been influenced or inspired by Madonna. I know three of her songs and not on purpose. I don’t understand the enthusiasm; I have been much more influenced by Beyoncé, Janet Jackson and Chaka Khan, much more than Madonna.”

Her tweet gained considerable traction and went viral, prompting her to call for fans to stop “worshipping”Madonna while declaring Janet Jackson the “Queen of Pop.”Shortly after her comments about Madonna, Banks found herself embroiled in controversy once again with her remarks directed at Camila Cabello.
