Prepare for a Frightening Halloween in Minecraft This Year

With Minecraft Live successfully concluded, players can look forward to an exciting Halloween season. Mojang is enhancing the spooky elements in the sandbox game with the upcoming update. The introduction of the Pale Garden biome and the Creaking mob has set the stage for what players can expect in the next game release.

The Creaking Mob and Pale Garden Biome Expected in Minecraft Snapshots During Halloween

New Horror Elements Revealed at Minecraft Live

On September 28, 2024, Mojang introduced a new mob known as the Creaking, which will exclusively spawn in the newly unveiled Pale Garden biome. Prior to this reveal, Mojang posted a TikTok video showcasing a creature with three vertically stacked yellow eyes.

After the mob’s full reveal during the live event, the developers discussed it further during their after-show while exploring the new biome.

The Creaking mob stands slightly taller than the player characters in-game, with a texture that closely resembles the tree trunks found in the Pale Garden biome. It is also covered in dead vines that are unique to this biome.

Interestingly, this new creature cannot be defeated by merely attacking it. Instead, it is linked to a new block called the Creaking Heart, a special wood log block that will spawn deep within one of the trees in the Pale Garden.

Timeline for the Arrival of Creaking in October Snapshots

With Halloween approaching on October 31, which is nearly a month away, Mojang developers confirmed during Minecraft Live that both the new biome and mob will soon appear in upcoming snapshots and beta/preview versions.

Currently, the development team is focused on the Bundles and Hardcore mode for Bedrock Edition, set to release with the next game update, titled Bundles of Bravery. As the first game release is not yet available, it is likely that the Creaking mob and Pale Garden will launch in snapshots and beta/preview versions just in time for Halloween.

Their introduction at the end of October would be perfectly timed, as these new features align seamlessly with the Halloween festivities.

As for the official launch in the subsequent game release, Mojang has yet to announce any specific dates for the game or snapshot drops. They have, however, outlined the new features and their update roadmap without providing detailed timelines.
