OneNote Android Preview Gets Updated Home Page

Microsoft today unveiled a redesigned OneNote for Android homepage. It makes it easy to create, search, and “act on your notes” on Android smartphones.

The new home page for OneNote provides quick access to pages from various notebooks, notes, and Samsung apps. Notes (assuming you have connected Samsung Notes to OneNote). The app can organize the most recent notes in two ways: list and grid. Moreover, it offers quick actions like delete, move, copy, share or add notes. Press and hold any note card and select the desired command.

Another part of the redesigned home page is the quick capture bar. Again, the focus here is on giving users a faster way to take notes. The quick capture panel lets you add a new page, create a handwritten note, take a photo, or make a voice note.

Microsoft is rolling out an updated version of OneNote for Android to Office Insiders first at version 16.0.14931.20052 and later. The company also notes that it is releasing new features gradually “to ensure a seamless experience.” This is Microsoft ‘s standard update process , which means that some Office Insiders will receive announced features later than others.

  1. The Android “New” Home Page is not as convenient as the previous home page. Tiles and multi line displays for for quick notes requires significantly more scrolling and more time to find what one is looking for.
