MultiVersus Pre-Season Extended, Season 1 Postponed

So far, MultiVersus has had quite a bit of success, with early players enjoying the game in its ongoing open beta. The game was supposed to officially leave beta and release its first season next week, but unfortunately some last-minute issues led to the delay.

Today, the MultiVersus Twitter account confirmed that Season 1 will no longer be airing on August 8, and as a result, Morty will also not be introduced as a character until a later date.

While there is no new release date for Season 1 yet, we do know that the Pre-Season Battle Pass has been extended until August 15th. Presumably, the new season will start shortly thereafter.

The reason for the delay is not revealed, but it’s somewhat surprising since MultiVersus is pretty polished anyway. While MultiVersus is free to play, you’ll have to pay to unlock characters permanently, or you’ll have to play characters in a free rotation every week. Each season will also have a Premium Battle Pass which will cost £8.
