Predator: Hunting Grounds Release Date for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 Confirmed for October 1

In March, the reputable game developer and publisher Illfonic announced that it had regained the rights to the movie-inspired multiplayer shooter Predator: Hunting Grounds from Sony. Initially released for PlayStation 4 and PC, the game is set to receive a significant upgrade. This week, Illfonic confirmed via email that a revamped digital version of the game will be released for Sony’s PS5 console, as well as for Microsoft Xbox Series X and S consoles, on October 1.

This upcoming version will feature enhanced graphics, leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 4.27, alongside technology from Vivox and Wwise. Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical shooter that allows players to team up as human soldiers, navigating a dense jungle in pursuit of an aggressive alien adversary. Alternatively, gamers can embody the Predator itself, utilizing a diverse arsenal of weapons and abilities, including a cloaking device to stalk human players.

Upon its release next week, there will be three distinct editions available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners. Each edition will feature a new Predator variant, the Feral Predator, which made its debut in the 2022 film Prey:

  • Standard Edition for $19.99 – This edition includes the base game along with a bonus – the formidable Feral Predator equipped with the Crossbolt Gun, Combistick, and Shield.
  • Jungle Edition for $34.99 – This version offers everything in the Standard edition as well as a collection of popular Predators: City Hunter (’97), Samurai, Valkyrie, and Viking, each outfitted with unique weaponry.
  • Yautja Edition for $69.99 – The ultimate edition which grants access to the base game, the Feral Predator, and nearly all DLC Predators including Bionic Predator, City Hunter (’97), Cleopatra, Emissary, Exiled, Samurai, Valkyrie, Viking, Wolf, and more, all tailored with custom weaponry.

Pre-orders for the digital versions will commence today. Additionally, the PS5 version will be available as a physical copy at select retail locations starting November 12.
