FuturLab has announced the immediate cessation of support for the VR version of PowerWash Simulator. This unique game has captured the hearts of players since its debut on consoles and PC in 2022, with the VR iteration released in November 2023, specifically for Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3.
End of Support for PowerWash Simulator VR
While regular content updates have been consistently rolled out for the standard versions across PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, the development of updates for the VR version has faced notable delays. Recently, a complimentary holiday-themed add-on was exclusively made available for all platforms except VR, highlighting the disparity in support.

In a statement shared across PowerWash Simulator’s social media platforms, CEO Kirsty Rigden expressed the company’s difficult choice to halt updates for the VR version, citing profitability concerns as the driving factor. Fortunately, the core game and existing DLC will continue to be available for purchase on the Meta Quest Store, ensuring players can still access previous content. Rigden also noted that the development team responsible for the VR version has transitioned to fill other roles within the company.
This decision is sure to leave many fans disheartened, particularly as PowerWash Simulator has maintained a robust following. Non-VR players have been treated to various exciting updates, including a recent crossover with the beloved Shrek franchise, allowing gamers to relive moments from the animated classic.
While the VR version may see a reduction in content, numerous downloadable packs are still available for players in the VR environment. Notable previous releases encompass themes from Alice in Wonderland, Back to the Future, and Spongebob Squarepants—all accessible on the Meta Quest store.
The decision to discontinue VR support has left many speculating about FuturLab’s future projects. Although specifics remain under wraps, developers have recently generated excitement by announcing a forthcoming Wallace and Gromit DLC for PowerWash Simulator. For now, the team appears focused on enriching the console gaming experience before embarking on their next venture.
