PowerColor Launches AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Hellhound and Reaper GPU Models with Stylish Triple-Fan Designs

PowerColor has expanded its lineup of Radeon RX 9070 XT AIB models, launching two new variants that are now showcased on the company’s official website.

Introducing the Hellhound and Reaper Series: Enhanced Cooling Performance for the Radeon RX 9070 XT

As a prominent board partner of AMD, PowerColor continues to innovate within the RDNA 4 architecture. Following the successful unveiling of the RX 9000 series at CES, the company initially provided only the Red Devil edition of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, touted as the fastest in its range.

Recently, PowerColor teased the introduction of the Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT, and details about the Reaper series emerged prior to the CES event. While these new offerings have generated considerable anticipation, they remain unavailable for purchase at this time. Notably, sources at Videocardz have confirmed the presence of both the Hellhound and Reaper Radeon RX 9070 XT on PowerColor’s official website, providing an initial glimpse at their design.

Design Features of the Hellhound RX 9070 XT

While specific technical specifications from AMD and its partners are still pending, the Hellhound RX 9070 XT’s aesthetics have been revealed. Here are some key design highlights:

The design is simple and unpretentious, featuring a triple-fan setup and a generously sized heatsink. Characteristic of the Hellhound brand, the logo appears on two of the fans, while the center fan showcases a refreshed PowerColor logo compared to the RX 7900 XTX series. Connectivity on the card includes four output ports: three DisplayPorts and one HDMI.

On the other hand, the Reaper Radeon RX 9070 XT features rounded edges and a minimalistic shroud with a similar triple-fan configuration. Both models are designed as 2.5-slot cards with comparable I/O options. The primary distinction lies in their boost clock speeds, with the Hellhound expected to offer greater performance.

Looking Ahead: Expected Official Specifications

Currently, PowerColor has not disclosed the specifications for the RX 9070 XT variants. AMD’s official launch of these graphics cards is anticipated in March 2025, and it is expected that detailed specifications will not be released until closer to that date. According to AMD, they require additional time to develop the necessary software optimizations for the RX 9000 GPUs, contributing to the delay in the launch.
