Post Malone Unveils New Comic Featuring Mad Max and Evil Dead Characters

Post Malone is venturing into the comic book realm with his latest creation, Big Rig, a project that has been intriguingly described as a blend of “Mad Max“and “Evil Dead.”This ambitious endeavor is brought to life by Vault Comics, in collaboration with Platinum Dunes, the production company helmed by renowned filmmakers Michael Bay and Brad Fuller, who are simultaneously developing it into a feature film.

As reported by ComicBasics.com, Big Rig stems from an original concept by the artist himself. Post Malone has teamed up with Vault Editorial Chief Adrian Wassell for the writing, while Nathan Gooden, noted for his work on Barbaric, will provide the artwork.

The narrative unfolds in the Dark Ages, where Europe faces an incursion from demonic forces. A faction of the Knights Templar, known as the Six Petals, prays for divine intervention and is gifted a colossal eighteen-wheeler dubbed the Rig. The story centers on an ex-communicated priest, nicknamed the Trucker, who takes to the wheel to confront the Hellish invaders.

While the full graphic novel of Big Rig is set for release in late 2025, fans can look forward to the debut of the first chapter during Free Comic Book Day this May, designed to generate excitement for the complete story. Malone has expressed his enthusiasm regarding the project, sharing:

“This is going to kick ass. It’s amazing working with Vault and Michael Bay. Turning this idea into what we have has been unbelievable. The team has been crushing it, and I can’t believe we get to be a part of Free Comic Book Day.”

Despite the potential perception of Big Rig as merely a vanity project aiming to promote a cinematic counterpart, the concept of “Mad Max meets Evil Dead” certainly captures intrigue. If executed well, Big Rig has the potential to emerge as an unexpected standout in the indie comic scene.

Moreover, the collaboration of talented professionals to bring Malone’s vision to fruition is likely to elevate expectations among comic enthusiasts. Nathan Gooden’s impressive track record on Barbaric, which received commendations when it debuted under Vault Comics in 2021, promises a gritty, adrenaline-fueled artistic experience for readers who appreciate visceral horror and high-octane action.
