Police Investigate Liam Payne’s “Friend” and Hotel Staff Homes in Connection with Former One Direction Star’s Death

Liam Payne’s Tragic Death Sparks Investigation into Friends and Hotel Staff

The untimely death of beloved singer Liam Payne has led to an ongoing investigation involving two hotel employees and one of his friends. The former One Direction star tragically passed away on October 16 after a fall from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Details of the Ongoing Inquiry

According to reports from TMZ, Argentinian police carried out a series of raids on November 5 at the homes of the hotel employees and an anonymous friend of Payne’s as part of the investigation. Authorities also reviewed CCTV footage from the hotel and examined employee locker details during these operations.

Significantly, witnesses reported that the two hotel staff members had contacted Payne prior to his fatal incident. Investigators discovered that one of Payne’s friends, who is believed to have sold him drugs, was not present during the raids on his residence.

“Operations carried out by the City Police [and] requested by the prosecutor Andrés Madrea [were] within the framework of the case that is under summary secrecy,” an Argentine police source revealed to US Weekly.

Background on the Previous Raid

This latest round of raids follows an earlier investigation on October 23, when authorities initially searched the CasaSur Hotel. They aimed to gather evidence that could shed light on Payne’s last moments. Reports indicate that this included seizing documents and video recordings from key areas of the hotel.

Argentinian journalist Paula Verela has indicated that some surveillance footage might show Payne collapsing before his fatal fall. While this claim requires further validation, it potentially aligns with preliminary findings from his autopsy, which suggested he fell while semi-conscious.

Drug-Related Investigations Intensify

The investigation extends to the drugs allegedly found in Payne’s system. Reports indicate that his autopsy revealed the presence of “pink cocaine,” a recreational drug composed of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and other substances. Sources are investigating who may have supplied these drugs to Payne and how they were accessed within the hotel environment.

“They are looking to investigate who sold the drugs to Payne and how those substances reached the room. It cannot be ruled out that the substances were provided by someone from the hotel,” a source told US Weekly.

Search Efforts Continue

The second raid at the CasaSur Hotel resulted in law enforcement retrieving various items. Footage from the Farandula Show depicted investigators leaving the hotel with evidence, including a cardboard box containing unspecified items.

According to Dr. Alberto Crescenti, the director of medical services in Buenos Aires, Payne sustained “extremely serious injuries,” including a fractured skull, as a result of his fall. Following the incident, police discovered evidence in his hotel room suggesting possible substance misuse, including an empty Dove soap packet, a burning candle, a burnt soda can top, and a piece of aluminum foil thought to have been used for illegal substance consumption.

Future Arrangements and Tributes

A toxicology report indicated multiple drugs within Payne’s system at the time of his passing, including crack, cocaine, and “pink cocaine.”Following legal processes, Liam Payne’s body will be returned to the United Kingdom, where arrangements are in place for a funeral at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Wolverhampton, a city dear to the late singer.

As the investigation unfolds, fans and loved ones continue to mourn his loss and seek answers surrounding the circumstances of his tragic passing.
