The official retail hub for the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Center, has recently unveiled a highly anticipated restock featuring an exciting collection of 30 plush toys. However, dedicated fans of Flareon may face a wait, as this plush form of the popular fire-type Pokémon is notably absent from the latest offerings. Coinciding with the announcement of 2025 as the “Year of Eevee,”Pokémon Center is shining a spotlight on this beloved and uniquely evolving Pokémon.
Eevee stands out among Pokémon with its ability to evolve into one of eight elemental forms, earnestly referred to as Eeveelutions. This unique characteristic makes Eevee a favorite among players, providing a delightful sense of variability not commonly found in other Pokémon evolution lines.
New Adorable Eevee Plushies
If you’ve ever wished to adopt a plush version of your preferred Eeveelution, the good news is that these new plushies are now available, with the exception of Flareon. The Pokémon Center’s latest line features delightful Eevee plush toys, standing at 7 inches tall, each with irresistibly charming oversized heads and short, sturdy legs to support their unique forms. The collection includes Vaporeon, Espeon, Jolteon, Sylveon, Glaceon, Umbreon, and Leafeon, as well as the original Eevee—leaving Flareon curiously missing.
What Happened to Flareon?
The complete assortment of new Eevee plushies is showcased above, and they markedly differ from the other Eevee merchandise currently available on the Pokémon Center website. These plush toys focus more on capturing cuteness rather than strictly adhering to their game designs. This trend toward adorable, chibi-style representations aligns with the recent release of similarly styled plushies from the Pokémon series, such as those of the Legendaries from Scarlet and Violet.
Each plush toy showcases remarkable individuality, despite sharing a common design theme. The distinguishing features of this new line emphasize their charm, which may explain the absence of Flareon. The plush’s iconic tufted fur—prominent around its collar, head, and bushy tail—might not translate well using the soft fabric employed for the other Eeveelutions, prompting designers to possibly explore alternative options.
Our Perspective: New Eeveelution Plushies Are Adorable
Even Without Flareon
While it’s disappointing that Flareon has been left out of the current plush lineup, I enthusiastically commend the design of the newly launched Eeveelution plushies. I firmly maintain that Pokémon plush toys should prioritize cuteness over strict realism. Realistic representations are better suited for figurines or models, while soft, cuddly plushies should be designed for maximum huggability. For this reason, the new Eeveelution toys deserve recognition as valuable additions to the Pokémon merchandise collection. Although I will miss Flareon for now, there’s a chance it may appear in a future Pokémon merchandise launch.
