On March 6, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a highly anticipated Seven-Star Tera Raid event, allowing players to combat Skeledirge the Unrivaled. This follows the recent Meowscarada event and is available until March 13, providing a limited window for trainers to challenge this powerful foe in Raid dens throughout the Paldea region.
About Skeledirge
Known as the Singer Pokémon, Skeledirge is the final evolution of Fuecoco and Crocalor, reaching its ultimate form at level 36. This dual-type Fire and Ghost Pokémon features exceptional special attack and HP statistics, though it lacks the speed of its competitive counterparts, Meowscarada and Quaquaval. Notably, Skeledirge serves as the Fire-type Starter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, effectively utilizing its signature move, Torch Song, which increases its special attack with successive uses. Furthermore, with a diverse arsenal of moves such as Shadow Ball, Snarl, and Earth Power, Skeledirge is positioned as a versatile contender in the competitive landscape of the Paldea region.
Raid Details
Following the defeat of Meowscarada the Unrivaled, trainers now face a fresh challenge with the new Seven-Star Tera Raid featuring Skeledirge. Trainers have until 7:59 PM EST on March 13 to engage in these high-stakes battles. As mentioned on Serebii.net, this formidable opponent possesses the hidden ability Unaware, neutralizing any stat changes made by enemies during combat. Skeledirge can utilize an array of moves, including Shadow Ball, Torch Song, Hyper Voice, Stomping Tantrum, Disarming Voice, and Flame Charge.
Serebii Update: The latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raid Battle Event is now live. Skeledirge is in 7 Star Tera Raid Battles until March 13th at 23:59 UTC. Details are being added @ https://t.co/gDbXkHSvkT pic.twitter.com/YXLUD16uH3 — Serebii.net (@SerebiiNet) March 7, 2025
Battle Strategies
Skeledirge begins battles aggressively, using moves like Disarming Voice and Flame Charge, which could pose a challenge for unprepared trainers. As a Tera-Fire Pokémon, it is vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Rock-type attacks, making Pokémon such as Kyogre, Primarina, and Quagsire effective options to counter Skeledirge. Additionally, trainers should be mindful that Skeledirge’s Unaware ability neutralizes any stat enhancements, making strategy critically important. Using Skill Swap to remove this ability may pave the way for a successful battle. Sound-based moves, such as those deployed by Skeledirge, may be countered with Pokémon possessing the Soundproof ability or the move Throat Chop. As the battle progresses and Skeledirge reaches 75% HP, it will activate a raid shield, intensifying its attacks once that shield is broken.
Ongoing Promotions
In addition to the new Tera Raid event, players can still take advantage of ongoing item giveaways through code distribution. The approach trainers choose to employ against Skeledirge the Unrivaled remains an intriguing aspect for the Pokémon community to discuss as the event continues.
