Pokémon GO Unveils New Tour Pass for Unova’s GO Tour
The Pokémon GO Tour is an annual celebration coinciding with Pokémon Day, dedicated to exploring different regions within the Pokémon universe. Initially launched in 2021, the event spotlighted the Kanto region and introduced nine shiny Pokémon, including the likes of Mew and Ditto. The latest event last year focused on Sinnoh, featuring Pikachu variants with special accessories alongside Dialga’s and Palkia’s Origin Formes.
With the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour 2025 in mind, Niantic has created a new Tour Pass available from February 24 at 10 AM until March 2 at 6 PM local time. Every player will receive a free pass, which they can upgrade by accumulating Tour Points through daily objectives, catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching eggs. As trainers progress, they can achieve Minor and Major milestones, receiving rewards such as candy and stickers. Those who reach the ultimate milestone will be rewarded with a special encounter featuring Zorua. It is essential for players to collect their rewards by March 9 at 6 PM, as they will expire afterward.
In addition to the free version, a deluxe Tour Pass will be available for $14.99 on the Pokémon GO Webstore from February 24 at 10 AM until March 2 at 6 PM. This premium option includes all rewards from both free and paid tiers, offers an exclusive encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Victini, and introduces the new Lucky Trinket item. This unique trinket transforms a selected friend into a Lucky Friend, ensuring that the next trade yields a Lucky Pokémon. After this singular use, the Lucky Friend status resets. Furthermore, a variant of the deluxe pass featuring 10 unlocked ranks will be sold for $19.99, with all rewards and the Lucky Trinket accessible until March 9 at 6 PM.
Anticipation for the Unova GO Tour continues to build, as players await the thrilling activities slated for the event. Notably, Kyurem, in its Black and White forms, will make its Pokémon GO debut through a fusion mechanic resembling the one used for Necrozma in the previous year’s GO Tour. To top it all off, shiny Meloetta will debut, available through ticketed Masterwork Research.
