Pokemon Collaborates with Honda to Introduce New Koraidon Bicycle

Overview

  • Honda collaborates with the Pokémon franchise to introduce a real-life Koraidon motorcycle, garnering widespread interest among enthusiasts.
  • Koraidon, recognized as a dual-type Fighting/Dragon Legendary Paradox Pokémon, has a futuristic counterpart named Miraidon.
  • The Koraidon motorcycle will incorporate advanced self-balancing technology and dynamic movement capabilities, which will be showcased in a special exhibit in Tokyo.

The exciting fusion of automotive engineering and gaming culture has been highlighted with Honda’s recent announcement in partnership with The Pokémon Company to design a motorcycle modeled after Koraidon. This innovative real-world interpretation of the Legendary Pokémon is quickly capturing the fascination of fans across the globe, despite the full details still pending release.

Koraidon, introduced in Generation IX of Pokémon, is celebrated as a dual-type Fighting and Dragon Legendary Paradox Pokémon. It serves as the iconic mascot for the popular game Pokémon Scarlet. Thought to be an ancient ancestor of Cyclizar, another Pokémon from this generation, Koraidon also features a futuristic variant known as Miraidon, which represents Pokémon Violet. Earlier theories hinted at potential release windows for shiny variants of Koraidon and Miraidon, but these alternate forms have yet to be introduced into the game.

Unveiled during Pokémon Day 2025, the “Honda Koraidon Project”revealed a teaser video showcasing various detailed aspects of the motorcycle’s design. The bike is crafted to closely mirror Koraidon’s character model from Pokémon Scarlet, reflecting a commitment to authenticity. Developed by a talented team of 40 engineers, the Koraidon motorcycle boasts a unique feature called the Sprinting Build, employing Honda’s cutting-edge Riding Assist technology to enable movement akin to the Pokémon’s in-game behavior, even allowing it to ‘run’ on all fours.

As described in Honda’s official press release, the Koraidon motorcycle’s self-balancing system not only allows it to stand independently on two wheels but also grants the bike dynamic capabilities. Its legs, neck, and head will be capable of movement that adjusts according to the speed in its Sprinting Build mode. Furthermore, features such as eye and eyelid movements are planned for incorporation, although these elements have yet to be seen in the promotional material.

The Koraidon motorcycle will be showcased at the Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo, Japan, from March 7-9. While this creation stands out in the realm of Pokémon-themed vehicles, it is not the first of its kind; Toyota developed a Miraidon motorcycle in the previous year, marking a growing trend in real-world interpretations of Pokémon characters.

While the Koraidon and Miraidon motorcycles represent remarkable engineering achievements, they are part of a broader legacy of Pokémon-themed vehicles. Nostalgic fans may recall a time when promotional vehicles such as a Pikachu-themed VW Beetle and a Lugia-inspired Chrysler PT Cruiser were spotted at conventions, showcasing the creativity within the fandom. With both mascots from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet now having tangible counterparts, the anticipation builds for what future Pokémon titles might inspire in terms of real-world vehicle designs.
