
Exciting Announcements from Pokémon Presents Event
Today, The Pokémon Company unveiled a vibrant lineup of announcements during the Pokémon Presents event. Highlights included the debut of a new mobile game titled Pokémon Friends, slated for release on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile platforms. In addition, fans received a glimpse of the 2026 release window for Pokémon Champions, alongside a captivating story trailer for the eagerly awaited Pokémon Legends Z-A.
Introducing Pokémon Friends
The centerpiece of this event was the announcement of Pokémon Friends, a delightful new puzzle game available for both iOS and Android devices, as well as on Nintendo Switch systems. Players will engage with a mix of 2D and 3D puzzles to create and customize their own plush room filled with Pokémon-themed decor.
The trailer for Pokémon Friends encourages players to “solve puzzles and get your daily ‘aha’ moment, ”positioning it as the latest entry in The Pokémon Company’s strategy for mobile titles that keep players returning daily, similar to offerings like Pokémon TCG and Pokémon Sleep. Additional updates were also shared for existing mobile games including Pokémon GO, Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Masters EX, and Pokémon Café ReMix.
New Series and Adaptations
The event also marked the announcement of new episodes for the Netflix series Pokémon Concierge and introduced a fresh stop-motion animated series titled Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu. This exciting project is being developed in collaboration with Aardman, a renowned studio known for acclaimed works such as Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. While the series promises engaging storytelling, it is expected to release in 2027, leaving fans eager for its arrival.
Pokémon Champions Unveiled
Another pivotal announcement during the presentation was related to Pokémon Champions. The event concluded with the unveiling of a gripping story trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A, showcasing gameplay on Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer delves into the game’s narrative, revealing a conflict where Pokémon are mega-evolving independently, instigating chaos throughout Lumiose City. Notable new mega-evolutions, including Mega-Dragonite, were also highlighted.
Additionally, a special Nintendo Switch 2 bundle featuring Pokémon Legends Z-A is set for release alongside the game’s launch on October 16, 2025.

More on the Pokémon Kanto Theme Park
Finally, the presentation provided updates on the much-anticipated Pokémon Kanto theme park, set to open soon at Yomuriland in Tokyo, Japan. The attraction will showcase over 600 Pokémon, as noted by Junichi Masuda, The Pokémon Company’s chief creative fellow, emphasizing a creative inspiration stemming from themes of isolation during the pandemic.
As one of the longest Pokémon Presents events to date, its 24-minute runtime was packed with exciting announcements that certainly captivated fans. The previous event had already set high expectations with a detailed look at Pokémon Legends Z-A, promising enhanced graphics and improved frame rates for the Switch 2 version, raising hopes for an exceptional gaming experience.
