PlayStation Launches Exciting New Games from the MENA Hero Project
PlayStation has unveiled the first series of games from its innovative MENA Hero Project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at highlighting and assisting game developers in the Middle East and North Africa. This initial selection features four unique titles, each a testament to the creativity and cultural richness of their respective creators.
Red Bandits: A Daring Dystopian Adventure
Developed by Team Agenda, based in Saudi Arabia, Red Bandits immerses players in a hyper-capitalist dystopia where they assume the role of Stutt, a seasoned thief with a troubled history. As he spearheads a rebellion against a powerful corporate overlord, the game offers a thrilling combination of cover-based combat, complex heists, and a home base for strategy planning. Players can expect an exhilarating journey intertwined with a compelling personal story.

Enci’s Solution: A Tale of Friendship and Exploration
From the UAE studio Dark Emerald comes Enci’s Solution, a hand-painted 2.5D narrative platformer featuring Ji’we, a courageous young Aeon on a quest to save his best friend. Along his journey, Ji’we teams up with Enci, a lost encyclopaedic robot, leading to unexpected adventures across more than 40 levels that are packed with hidden challenges. This game uniquely fuses exploration, puzzle-solving, and storytelling against a backdrop of a techno-dystopian universe.

The Perfect Run: Time-Traveling Challenges
In The Perfect Run, created by Lanterns Studios from Tunisia, players embody Quicksave, a time-traveling hero caught in a three-day ordeal to either save or annihilate New Rome. With multiple branching storylines, faction dynamics, time-looping gameplay, and formidable bosses, this action-adventure RPG encourages players to explore varied timelines to uncover the ultimate outcome of their choices.
A Cat’s Manor: An Atmospheric Puzzle Expedition
The Bahrain-based team at Happiest Dark Corner presents A Cat’s Manor, a multi-faceted experience that combines puzzles, rhythm challenges, crafting, and combat. Players encounter a mysterious cat protagonist awakening in a mansion plagued by spiders. With a stitched hand at the end of its tail and no memory, players must navigate the eerie environment, solve intricate puzzles, and piece together the dark secrets of the family that once inhabited the home. Enhanced by 3D audio technologies and the unique features of the PS5 DualSense controller, this game offers an engaging and immersive adventure.
Supporting Local Talent
As emphasized by PlayStation, “We believe that great games can come from anywhere.” The MENA Hero Project showcases the company’s commitment to fostering new talent in emerging markets. By offering essential resources and a globally recognized platform, Sony seeks to support regional developers in sharing their culturally significant and innovative games with a worldwide audience.
All four titles are anticipated to launch on PS5 and PC, marking an exciting new chapter for the gaming landscape in the MENA region.
