According to reports, a firmware update for the PlayStation Portal has been released, offering enhancements to performance and image quality.
The official update notes for the new 2.0.6 firmware have not been released yet, making it unclear what changes have been made. However, many users on the system’s dedicated subreddit have reported improved performance and image quality. While not all users have seen these improvements, the majority agree that they are genuine and not simply a placebo effect.
One of the major problems that hindered users from fully enjoying the PlayStation Portal was the stuttering caused by the PlayStation 5 streaming at 59.94 Hz, which does not match the handheld’s screen refresh rate. Fortunately, the recent firmware update has reportedly fixed this issue.
The PlayStation Portal system is now accessible globally.
