Spectre Divide created a considerable stir after its release on September 3, 2024. Although it features low-graphics, it rapidly built a substantial player community. However, shortly after its launch, players began expressing their concerns over the consistently lengthy queue times.
A recent post on Reddit by u/100poibaby highlighted a queue timer that reached 14 minutes, which sparked discussions within the gaming community. The user commented:
“I really wanted to give this game a chance.”

User u/TurtleBox_Official reported facing back-to-back waits of 22 minutes while attempting to play on Steam, which ultimately led to their decision to uninstall the game.
“I tried to play the game on stream the other day and got back-to-back 22 minute queue times. It was insane, uninstalled right after.”

Others shared similar grievances. u/YongWaTV recounted waiting 10 minutes only to encounter cheaters:
“Asia server. Waited 10 mins. Then I got paired up with toxic cheaters. Lmaoo”

Despite these complaints, not all players reported negative experiences. Some users challenged the claims about long wait times and shared their differing experiences.
u/MisterLeat pointed out a bug affecting players in the New York region:
“It was a bug if you are New York where queue went infinite”
In contrast, u/Respond_Necessary provided a potential solution: restarting the game to mitigate queue times. They shared their experience of waiting 10 minutes before restarting and finding a match in just two minutes after rejoining the queue:
“There is a known bug with matchmaking. If your queue goes over 8min you should restart the game and re-enter the queue. That’s what I have been told by mods in the discord. I once queued for 10min, then restarted, and a game popped within 2 minutes after that.”
Is the player base of Spectre Divide shrinking?
Yes, the player base of Spectre Divide has experienced a decline since its launch. After initially attracting around 26,000 players, the game’s player count has dropped to approximately 5,000, as reported by Steam Charts.
This decline could be attributed to a lack of new content, the game’s resemblance to other FPS titles like Valorant, and the various bugs that affect accessibility for players. In response, the developers have recently introduced a Ranked mode to entice more players.
