In Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, players are armed with an impressive array of tactical options. With a diverse selection of units, skills, and items at your disposal, forming a team that complements your strategic preferences is essential for success on the battlefield.
One of the standout features for enhancing tactical diversity in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is the introduction of Gadgets. These versatile tools can unleash a variety of damaging and utility effects during combat, although they require a Phantom to either board or be confined within them to activate. This guide will provide insights on how to acquire Gadgets and effectively utilize them in your gameplay.
Acquiring Gadgets

To access Gadgets, players must complete Chapter 2 and unlock the Engineer character. By creating an Engineer, you gain entry to the Gadgets Facility, where you can invest BOR to unlock and upgrade the three types of Gadgets available in the game. Unlocking each Gadget costs 10, 000 BOR.
Understanding Each Gadget
Peashooter

The Peashooter acts as a Tank, launching Napalm Shots designed to inflict damage on groups of enemies. This Gadget also provides the unique ability to propel your allies across the battlefield while enhancing their efficiency. Tactical use of the Peashooter allows for significant damage potential against clustered foes and the capability to reposition your units, making it invaluable in challenging terrains.
Barrelbot

The Barrelbot excels in direct combat, wielding powerful punches and beam attacks. Its electrical punches can clear blocks, providing strategic advantages in certain maps. Similar to the Peashooter, confining a unit like a Sailor to this Gadget amplifies its effectiveness, especially if that unit has a high REMOVE stat despite otherwise low base stats.
Ded Zeppelin

The Ded Zeppelin is a formidable aerial unit capable of executing powerful ranged attacks. Additionally, it can pull enemies toward it, mirroring effects of certain fan gadgets encountered on maps. This feature can be strategically utilized to drag opponents into advantageous positions, either into pits or within the melee range of your units.
Deploying Gadgets and Combat Tips
To deploy Gadgets during battles, players must first have Apricot on the battlefield. She has the unique command “Gadget Drop, ”allowing her to deploy any Gadgets you’ve previously unlocked. However, her deployment radius is limited, so positioning her strategically is essential. Once in place, you can either have a unit approach the Gadget and trigger the ‘All Aboard’ skill or utilize Marona to confine a Phantom to the Gadget, which is typically faster as it doesn’t consume an action.
Gadgets possess independent stats that generally overshadow those of the units confined within them, with the important exception being the REMOVE stat. Therefore, selecting units like Sailors for confinement can extend the active time of Gadgets on the map. It’s vital to assess the current battlefield conditions and choose the most suitable Gadget for the task at hand—whether it’s employing the Peashooter or Barrelbot for block destruction or using the Ded Zeppelin to reposition enemies.
