Phainon Set to Debut as Playable Character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4

Phainon has been a prominent ally to the Trailblazer and Dan Heng since the introduction of the Honkai: Star Rail Amphoreus storyline. Exciting news for fans: he is officially announced as a playable character in version 3.4, scheduled for release on July 2, 2025.HoYoVerse has teased details on social media, providing insights into his role and capabilities in the game.

Character Overview and Abilities

In line with his status as a leader, Phainon will be introduced as a five-star Chrysos Heir. He specializes in the path of Destruction, similar to Mydei, allowing him to effectively target individual opponents. Furthermore, he is expected to possess skills or an Ultimate ability that can inflict damage on multiple enemies. Alongside these capabilities, he will primarily deal Physical damage.

With his arrival, Phainon will establish himself as the third unit in the game specializing in Physical Destruction. Notably, the Trailblazer’s original form also follows this path, dealing Physical damage. Clara, a character available since launch, shares this specialization, as does Yunli, who was introduced in version 2.4.

Additional Playable Characters in Version 3.4

Phainon is not the sole addition to Honkai: Star Rail in version 3.4. HoYoVerse has also announced two other characters who will feature in the upcoming Fate/Stay Night crossover event. Among these characters are Saber and Archer, who will both be available as five-star playable units. Remarkably, Archer will be presented as the first male Quantum character, and players can obtain him for free upon his introduction.

Upcoming Updates and Compatibility

Honkai: Star Rail is accessible on PS5, PC, and mobile platforms. Players can look forward to Phainon’s release in version 3.4, which will launch on July 2, 2025. Additionally, an update for version 3.3 is approaching, with the Special Program scheduled to debut on May 9, 2025.
