Persona 4 Golden won’t work on Steam Deck

The Steam Deck is one of the most exciting portable devices created in part because of its ability to play – theoretically – with your complete Steam library. Unfortunately, not every game will work, and the first list of unsupported games has been revealed, which includes Persona 4 Golden.

As reported by SteamDB , the first batch of Steam Deck games have been unveiled with 38 verified titles, 24 playable and 5 unsupported. For the uninitiated, Steam Deck will group all Steam games into one of these three categories, with verified games being tested to work perfectly on Steam Deck. Meanwhile, a “playable” game may require some tweaking, such as manually selecting a controller configuration, or using the deck’s touchscreen or virtual keyboard to navigate menus. Unsupported games are just unsupported.

According to SteamDB , the list of verified games includes: Portal 2; Binding of Isaac: Rebirth; Celeste; Hollow Knight; disgraced; Rain Risk 2 ; Cuphead; Castle Crushers; Psychonauts 2; membranous; Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – GOTY edition; Noita; DARK SOULS III ; The resurgence of firearms; Ninja Sign: Updated ; Tetris Effect: Connected ; Total War: WARHAMMER II; door of death; manifold garden ; into the breach; Death chain; Messenger; MONKEY EXITS; Lodos War entry-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth- ; Crazy Max ; LAST FANTASY ; Guacameli! 2; Rogue Legacy 2; Super Mega Baseball 3; DARK SOULS II: Scholar of the First Sin; Chain Superstars; SCARLET NEXUS ; Remnant: From the Ashes; sable; Aliens: Fireteam Elite; HOT WHEELS ENTERTAINED; Tunchei RAD.

Playable games include : Factorio; The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; Kill Spire; Cookie clicker; Walheim; Rise of the Tomb Raider; Nier: Automata; and BRAVELY DEFAULY II, just to name a few. List of unsupported games : Persona 4 Golden; Job Simulator (VR); blue (VR); Arizona Sunshine (VR) and Budget Cuts (VR).

As you can see, most of the unsupported games are VR games, which, as previously confirmed, do not work with Steam Deck. It’s somewhat surprising to see Persona 4 Golden on the list of unsupported games. The game was originally released for PlayStation Vita, so it would be perfect for Steam Deck. We hope that the list of unsupported titles will be reduced over time.
