“Perfection” – Fans in awe of Tawanchai’s jaw-dropping set-ups against Jo Nattawut in first non-title meeting

Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s reputation as a formidable striker is widely recognized in the kickboxing and Muay Thai communities, known for his skill in setting up attacks.

At just 24 years old, the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion displays a level of skill and expertise far beyond his age. With each new match, he continues to amaze with his exceptional abilities. One notable example is his intense kickboxing battle with experienced Thai fighter Jo Nattawut at ONE Fight Night 15, lasting three rounds.

Tawanchai’s signature combination consisted of using leg feints to prepare for the body kick and then following up with a straight jab. Although he incorporated a few additional chain combinations in their non-title fight, this one ultimately proved to be the most successful.

This week, fans of ONE Championship flocked to Instagram to express their thoughts on the slow-motion video highlighting Tawanchai’s remarkable technique.

Following an intense battle between Tawanchai and Jo Nattawut last year, the two renowned fighters will once again face off, this time for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 167 on June 7 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok.

There were numerous uncertainties surrounding their initial encounter, held at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok last October. A large portion of spectators believed that the judges’ decision to declare Tawanchai the winner was unfair and unjust, labeling it as a “robbery”due to the intense nature of the match.

Despite Nattawut’s impressive performance, Tawanchai had to contend with his constant movement and was challenged throughout the bout. However, despite ‘Smokin’ Jo’s valiant effort, the Muay Thai champion emerged victorious with his cleaner and more impactful strikes, securing a unanimous decision win.

Prime Video subscribers in North America can watch ONE 167 live and at no cost on June 7.

Tawanchai believes there is still room for improvement before he can confidently claim to be a better kickboxer than Jo Nattawut.

Despite defeating Nattawut in all three rounds of their non-title kickboxing bout, the Thai phenom’s victory left Tawanchai feeling unsettled. He believed that he could have performed even better and secured a more definitive end to their match.

Nevertheless, Jo Nattawut made sure that Tawanchai didn’t secure an easy victory. As a result, Tawanchai became aware of numerous flaws in his kickboxing techniques, which he had previously been unaware of – all thanks to the help of ‘Smoking Jo.’

The individual, who is 24 years old, had previously confessed to ONE:

“I believe I’m a better fighter, but in kickboxing Jo is a better fighter and overall I need to work on that.”
