New Features in The Finals 4.2.0 Patch Notes

World Tour Event – Primetime Buff

This week’s updates kick off with an exciting new World Tour event titled “Primetime Buff”! This feature activates when you or a partner deposits a cash box into a cashout station, impacting the entire team. While under the influence of the Primetime Buff, players gain an additional +100 health beyond their normal maximum (for instance, a Light player’s health could increase from 150 to 250). Here are some key points regarding the Primetime Buff:

  • The extra health will not regenerate if you take damage.
  • The buff will expire once the cashout process is complete.
  • The buff cannot be stacked, but can be replenished if your squad deposits another cash box.

ENGIMO has certainly gone above and beyond in this final segment of the World Tour, featuring the following maps:

  • Fortune Stadium
  • Monaco
  • Kyoto
  • SYS$HORIZON

Balance Adjustments in The Finals 4.2.0

Gadgets

Data Reshaper

  • Introduced Glitch Barrels into the Data Reshaper’s item pool.

Smoke Grenade

  • Expanded the duration of smoke entities from 15 seconds to 17.5 seconds, preventing enemy health bars and outlines from being visible until the smoke begins to dissipate.

Game Mode Updates in The Finals 4.2.0

Ranked Tournaments

  • Adjusted spawn point selection logic for teams that face wipeouts in the tournament’s final round, minimizing occurrences of long-distance spawns.
  • Increased the variety of Cashout spawn locations to enhance gameplay on new objectives.

World Tour

  • Updated spawn point selection logic in the tournament’s final round, targeting teams that get wiped to decrease long-distance spawn occurrences.
  • Expanded the variety of Cashout spawn locations for spawning next objectives.

Specializations

Mesh Shield

  • Reduced cooldown for the Mesh Shield from 12 seconds to 8 seconds if the shield endures damage when closed.
  • Cut cooldown for the Mesh Shield from 8 seconds to 4 seconds if the shield remains undamaged when closed.

Developer Note: We aim to prevent ‘juggling’ strategies with the Mesh Shield during combat, as this wasn’t our intended use for this specialization. However, we feel that the changes made in 4.0 were overly harsh. These adjustments in 4.2 should make the Mesh Shield more viable.

That’s a wrap on The Finals 4.2.0 Patch Notes. These adjustments are sure to transform the game’s meta, allowing players to explore diverse combinations of weapons and gadgets.
