Park Ji-hoon Set to Appear in Historical Film ‘The Man Who Lives With The King’ Featuring Yoo Hai-jin
Park Ji-hoon is poised to take on the leading role in the upcoming historical film, The Man Who Lives With The King. The multi-talented singer and actor will be sharing the screen with fellow actor Yoo Hai-jin, whose involvement was officially confirmed in July 2024.
Joining this remarkable cast are Yoo Ji-tae and Lee Jun-hyuk, with filming set to commence early next year. Ji-hoon is set to portray King Danjong, the sixth monarch of the Joseon dynasty.
Park Ji-hoon Cast as King Danjong
In The Man Who Lives With The King, Park Ji-hoon will be stepping into the shoes of King Danjong, exploring the king’s life following his exile to Yeongwol in Gangwon-do. Renowned director Jang Hang-jun, known for his expertise in directing and screenwriting, will be helming the film, marking his debut in the historical drama genre.
Yoo Hai-jin will take on the title role, portraying the man closely associated with the king. Alongside Park Ji-hoon and Yoo Hai-jin, renowned actor Yoo Ji-tae will also take part in the film, with Lee Jun-hyuk, known for his role in 365: Repeat the Year, making a notable special appearance.
While Ji-hoon’s participation was recently announced, the roles of Yoo Hai-jin, Yoo Ji-tae, and Lee Jun-hyuk were finalized earlier this July. This intriguing ensemble is heightening excitement among fans. Park Ji-hoon is gearing up for his first feature film debut, scheduled for October 2024, alongside a cast rich in experience.
Furthermore, Yoo Ji-tae, who has been active in television and streaming platforms, is set to return to the big screen after a considerable hiatus. This marks his first historical role since Hwang Jin-i back in 2007, and he’ll be making a cinematic comeback following his appearance in Money (2019).
This eagerly awaited project is being produced by BA Entertainment, the powerhouse behind successful titles like Casino and The Outlaws. Distribution will be handled by Showbox, known for the blockbuster The Exorcist, which captivated over 10 million viewers.
Insight into Park Ji-hoon
Born on May 29, 1999, Ji-hoon began his career as a child actor and model for commercials. He rose to public prominence in 2017 when he achieved second place in the second season of the reality competition Produce 101, leading to the formation of the boy group Wanna One.
Debuting with Wanna One on August 7, 2017, he performed alongside eleven other members, such as Kang Daniel and Ong Seong-wu, until the group disbanded on December 31, 2018, once their contracts concluded.
After Wanna One’s disbandment, Ji-hoon launched his solo career with the EP O’Clock on March 26, 2019. Since then, he has released several successful EPs, including My Collection, Hot & Cold, and Blank or Black.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Ji-hoon has starred in various K-dramas and web series such as Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency and Weak Hero Class 1, the latter earning him critical acclaim. With his first full-length film set for release in October 2024 titled Audrey, the actor-singer is on an exciting trajectory in his career.
