- As of now, Palworld remains in the early access stage, with continuous enhancements in development.
Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, has officially surpassed 32 million players across various platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, just over a year following its highly publicized launch. Presently, the game is in early access, allowing players to explore its vast offerings.
Upon its release, Palworld quickly established itself as a standout title in the realm of monster-taming games. Initial statistics indicate that the game was a massive success, selling over seven million copies within a mere five days of its launch. Initially available only on PC and Xbox, Palworld eventually expanded its reach to PS5 and, most recently, to macOS, contributing to its growing player base.
Recently, Palworld took to Twitter to celebrate the remarkable achievement of 32 million players, a figure that clearly reflects the game’s popularity fueled by a series of updates and new content, including the well-received Feybreak update.

Interestingly, the significant launch of Palworld in 2024 was shadowed by allegations of plagiarism related to the Pokémon franchise. Since September 2024, Pocketpair has been engaged in ongoing legal disputes with Nintendo, which co-owns Pokémon. This friction reportedly resulted in a nine-day delay of the game’s PS5 launch in Japan. By December, the dispute had escalated, leading Nintendo to file new patents in the U. S., with the latest developments emerging earlier this February.

Despite facing legal challenges, Pocketpair remains active in the gaming landscape. In January 2025, the development team launched a card-based game, OverDungeon, on the Nintendo Switch, following its original release on PC in 2019.
