Data Loss Bug Affecting PS5 Palworld Players
Players of Palworld on the PS5 have recently encountered a frustrating data loss bug. According to Pocketpair, who has addressed the issue, those experiencing the CE-100022-5 and CE-100096-6 errors will need to delete all corrupted save files. A comprehensive fix is scheduled for global release on July 10, 2025.
Understanding the Cause of the Errors
Pocketpair provided clarity regarding the origin of these errors in a social media announcement. The CE-100022-5 and CE-100096-6 errors stem from a bug linked to an excessive number of save files in Palworld on the PS5. This issue has led to console system errors, resulting in potential corruption or loss of any save data created during these errors.
Players who do not see these specific errors are likely not affected and can continue using their existing save files safely. However, for those who encountered the errors, Pocketpair strongly advises the deletion of any possibly corrupted files to prevent further issues. The studio has stated that it cannot assist with repair or recovery of save data.
Updates from Patch 0.6.2
The 0.6.2 patch notes include two critical updates that aim to eliminate the data loss and corruption issues:
- Limitation of save data to a maximum of 10 files on the PS5.
- Enhancements to the overall stability of the save system.
Note that if you have more than 10 save data instances, these will not be automatically removed.
Recent Developments in Palworld
Palworld’s last significant update, Tides of Terraria, introduced new Pals and weapons from another popular indie title, further enriching the gameplay experience.
The game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in early access. Players affected by the save file issues can expect a resolution with the upcoming 0.6.2 patch set for release on July 10, 2025.
