Update Overview for Palworld
- Introduction of Lunar New Year skins for Pals, complemented by essential balance changes and multiple bug resolutions.
- Enhanced Pals now directly engage the nearest adversary upon summoning, while larger Pals exhibit improved mobility within bases and a reduction in power costs.
- Further refinements encompass increased weapon durability, expedited oil extraction rates, and a series of bug fixes.
Palworld has unveiled a vibrant update featuring Spring Festival-themed skins for five unique Pals as part of the significant update v0.4.14. This update, marking the second iteration released in January 2025, illustrates the game’s promising trajectory as it approaches its second full year since entering early access.
Earlier in January 2025, the first update was launched, primarily addressing bug fixes while introducing beneficial enhancements, including improved maneuverability for certain flying Pals and increased resource availability in Large Oil Rig chests.
As anticipation builds for the Lunar New Year celebration on January 29, Palworld invites players to dress up select Pals in festive skins. The new Pals include Lucky Cattiva, Fortune-Bringer Lyleen, Fortune-Bringer Lyleen Noct, Lion-Dancer Chillet, and Lion-Dancer Chillet Ignis. Players must already have these Pals available to don the new skins, providing a fun experience even for newcomers, as Cattiva is among the first companions players encounter in the game.

The update brings more than just festive skins; it also enhances gameplay mechanics to improve efficiency and strategy. Following the prior modification regarding Pals’ summoning mechanics—an adjustment deemed necessary amidst legal concerns with Nintendo—players will now see their Pals attack the closest enemy immediately upon summoning. This recent change enables players a more streamlined approach to combat scenarios.
Additionally, large Pals are now more agile within bases, allowing them to behave similarly to smaller Pals. This adjustment permits them to navigate through tight spaces more easily and minimizes collisions with obstacles such as ceilings, thereby enhancing their utility during assigned tasks. Other notable changes include a decrease in power requirements for the large electric egg incubator, increased weapon and armor durability, and improved oil extraction rates from production facilities.
