Palworld Crossplay Update: Version 0.5.0 Launches with Exciting Features
After a season of speculation and anticipation, the Palworld crossplay feature has finally arrived. Pocketpair has officially rolled out update 0.5.0 to its early access platform, introducing expanded multiplayer connectivity and several significant improvements along with a range of bug fixes.
Expanded Multiplayer Capabilities
Earlier, players could only engage in crossplay across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows through the Microsoft Store, including PC Game Pass. The new update now opens the doors for crossplay to include Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, Game Pass, and macOS users, fostering a seamless multiplayer experience across multiple platforms.
However, it is worth noting that the PlayStation 5 iteration currently does not support dedicated servers. This limitation prevents an increase in player capacity for multiplayer experiences at this time. According to a recent social media announcement from the development team: “Dedicated servers are currently unavailable on the PS5 version. We’re in the process of integrating this support and plan to launch this feature in the future.”
New Features Introduced
In addition to crossplay, players can now utilize a “Global Palbox”that allows them to store their Pals from different worlds, enabling easy transfers between environments. Furthermore, a long-awaited photo mode has been added to the game, which lets players capture stunning in-game visuals by concealing the user interface and maneuvering the camera freely.
