Palworld continues to evolve during its open beta phase, most recently unveiling the Feybreak expansion. This update introduces a massive new island, six times larger than the previous Sakurajima, complete with new items, weapons, and Pal Gear. Players can also expect fresh gameplay mechanics and the presence of new NPCs to engage with.
One of the standout features of these expansions is the introduction of new Pal specimens for players to discover and capture. Similar to the earlier Sakurajima update, the Feybreak expansion offers a wealth of new creatures suitable for collection and battle. Among these creatures is Smokie, an adorable canine Pal. If you’re having difficulty locating Smokie, our comprehensive guide below provides all the details you need to find and capture this charming new species in Palworld.
Where to Find & Catch Smokie in Palworld

Smokie is exclusively found on Feybreak Island, accessible only after leveling up sufficiently. To reach this destination, players will need to obtain either a flight mount Pal or a water-travel capable Pal to navigate the ocean. Prior to your journey, ensure you are well-equipped with ammunition, healing items, and strong Pals, as Feybreak is home to numerous Pals with levels ranging from 30 to over 50.
Upon arrival at Feybreak, players can find Smokie scattered across the northern half of the island. The specific habitats of Smokie are illustrated in the accompanying map image, marked with orange indicators. Notably, Smokie is active during both day and night, providing players with the flexibility to pursue this elusive Pal at any time.

Smokie Work Suitability & Partner Skill, Explained
Smokie possesses a unique Partner Skill known as Dig, Dog! Dig!, which is particularly useful for players looking to uncover Chromite deposits:
- Dig, Dog! Dig: This ability leverages Smokie’s keen sense of smell to detect nearby Chromite. When battling alongside a player, it yields a significant amount of Chromite.
In order to utilize the Dig, Dog! Dig! skill, players will need to craft Smokie’s Harness.
While Smokie’s utility in base work is limited, as it is not highly effective for various tasks, it can still perform Gathering Tasks at Level 2, which involve collecting crops around your base. This makes Smokie a valuable addition during specific situations requiring resource gathering.
