After officially debuting last week, the OPPO Reno7 series smartphones are finally on sale in the Chinese market today. As expected, the devices were warmly received in the domestic market: the company generated revenues of 100 million yuan in the first 15 minutes of its debut sale.
Considering that OPPO Reno7 5G and Reno7 Pro 5G were priced between Yuan 2699 ($ 423) and Yuan 3699 ($ 579) respectively, it can be inferred that the company sold between 27,000 and 37,000 units in a short period of time.
The impressive sales figures did not come as a big surprise, however, as the OPPO Reno series has always been one of the most popular mid-range series in the Chinese market – and is becoming increasingly popular in the global market.
OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G
To summarize: OPPO Reno7 Pro features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with FHD + screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 99.94% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and a maximum brightness of up to 920 nits.
For selfies and video calling, it also has a 32MP front-facing camera that sits inside a hole punch in the upper left corner of the screen. Also, let’s not forget that the phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
There is a redesigned camera island at the back that houses a total of three different cameras, including a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera for macro photography.
Under the hood, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is powered by a dedicated MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset, which will be paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in the storage department. As usual, the Reno7 Pro 5G lacks microSD card support for expanding storage.
The light always on is nothing more than a 4500mAh dual cell battery that supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging. In terms of software, we can expect the phone to run the company’s proprietary ColorOS 12 based on Android 11 out of the box.
For those wondering, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is available in three colors including blue, black and gold. In terms of pricing, it will set you back 3699 Yuan ($ 579) and 3999 Yuan ($ 626), respectively, for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB models.
OPPO Reno7 5G
Moving on to the OPPO Reno7 5G, this model comes with a slightly smaller 6.44-inch OLED display but retains the same FHD + screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, built-in fingerprint reader, and a 32MP front-facing camera.
On the other hand, OPPO Reno7 5G also comes with three cameras. However, it replaces Sony’s high quality 50MP IMX766 image sensor with the 64MP OmniVision OV64B image sensor used in mid-range models. It will be accompanied by the same 8MP ultra-wide device and 2MP macro photography that we saw on the Reno7 Pro 5G.
Moving on, the OPPO Reno7 5G also features a stripped-down Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset along with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in the storage department. Likewise, it will be powered by a 4500mAh battery that has a slightly slower 60W charging speed.
Like the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G, the vanilla model is also available in three different colors such as blue, black and gold. The device will be priced at 2699 Yuan ($ 423), 2999 Yuan ($ 470), 3299 Yuan ($ 517).
