The extensive range of customizable options available in the Battlefield 6 menu is nothing short of remarkable. While it rivals the offerings found in modern Call of Duty titles, it surpasses the customization found in previous Battlefield installments.
This multitude of settings is advantageous, enabling players to fine-tune their gaming experience to suit their individual preferences. However, the overwhelming number of choices—and their complicated organization—might intimidate some newcomers. But worry not!
After investing countless hours into Battlefield 6, we’ve observed significant enhancements in the settings pages compared to the earlier beta version. Though navigating through these menus can still be somewhat confusing, especially for those unfamiliar with their layout, this guide aims to simplify the process for you. Here, you’ll discover the best settings tailored to your setup, along with step-by-step instructions to adjust them to your liking. While we won’t cover every single option here, the settings highlighted are critical and will appeal to a wide array of players.

Optimal Settings for Battlefield 6
On this page, you’ll discover:
- Aim Sensitivity
- Friendly and Enemy Colors
- Icon Intensity and Opacity
- Crosshair Thickness
- Minimap Size
- Camera Shake Reduction
Adjusting Aim Sensitivity (Understanding Uniform Infantry Aiming)
Let’s start with what may be the most intricate aspect: aim sensitivity. Battlefield 6 employs a feature known as Uniform Infantry Aiming (previously referred to as Uniform Soldier Aiming), which works alongside the Zoom Sensitivity Coefficient that you specify.
Rather than overloading you with technical jargon, we’ll provide straightforward guidance. Begin by ensuring that Uniform Infantry Aiming is set to On. You can find this option under the menu for Mouse & Keyboard > Infantry > Control Settings or Controller > Edit Settings > Infantry > Control Settings.
Next, configure the Zoom Sensitivity Coefficient:
- For PC users employing mouse & keyboard: Set it to Zero.
- If you are using a controller with a TV (or 16:9 monitor): Set it to 178 (thank you to TheTacticalBrit for this insight).
There’s a unique situation for users with ultra-wide monitors while using mouse & keyboard. As the aspect ratio differs from the standard 16:9, results may vary. We suggest starting at zero and adjusting as necessary if you encounter discrepancies in aim and zoom accuracy.
Sadly, you cannot customize these settings separately for mouse & keyboard versus controller, assuming you switch between them on your PC or console.
The game also allows per-zoom level sensitivity adjustment, such as for standard iron sights or no optics. Access these options under Mouse & Keyboard > Infantry > Control Settings or Controller > Edit Settings > Infantry > Control Settings, then navigate to the Zoom section to set your preferences for various magnification levels.
Additionally, there’s a setting for Uniform Vehicle Aiming which is disabled by default. We recommend keeping it off; however, you may experiment with similar values if desired, as it operates under the same principles for vehicle aiming.
Customizing Friendly and Enemy Colors
Battlefield 6 features several pre-configured color presets designed for players with varying degrees of color blindness. These can also benefit players who seek better visibility of certain icons in the game’s HUD.
All available presets cover a range of on-screen elements, including friendlies, enemies, vehicles, and environmental pings.
To access these settings, navigate to Accessibility > Graphics Quality Settings > Color Profiles. Click Edit to start customizing.
One recommended preset is Tritanopia, which enhances the vibrancy of colors compared to the default settings. This can make HUD icons stand out more, especially on HDR displays. For those seeking specific colors, selecting Custom allows you to choose colors for each element using a color wheel.

Adjusting Icon Intensity and Opacity
After finalizing the colors of your icons, there are additional options to modify their visibility. Navigate to Graphics > Icons & Indicators to access these settings.
You will find a slider for adjusting icon intensity; move it to your preferred level. For fine-tuned control over individual icons on your HUD and within the game world, click Edit under HUD Icons.
This extensive menu warrants a thorough scroll-through before making any changes. It is particularly crucial to adjust the Aim-Based Icons Opacity, which dictates icon visibility when viewed from a first-person perspective and while aiming. You want these icons to provide essential information without becoming a distraction.
In the following subsections, you can alter the scale and opacity of various icons, including objective and squad indicators. Unfortunately, there is no on-screen preview to demonstrate your changes, so testing in an empty server may be necessary to see adjustments in real-time.
Modifying Crosshair Thickness
Continuing in the same menu, access Graphics > Icons & Indicators and select Edit under Crosshairs and Indicators. This section provides numerous customization options to optimize crosshair visibility.
You are fortunate to have a preview window available to visualize your changes across different environments. We recommend setting Crosshair Opacity to 100% and increasing the Intensity until the crosshair is comfortably visible against various backgrounds, such as snow. Opt for a Thick crosshair for maximum clarity.
Additionally, you can customize your crosshair color if you prefer something other than white. If you are an experienced FPS player, disabling Infantry Crosshair Projection may help keep your crosshair static at the center of the screen. Conversely, if motion sickness is a concern, keeping it enabled may be beneficial.

Resizing Your Minimap
Again under the Graphics > Interface and HUD section, you’ll find Advanced HUD Settings, which includes a dedicated area for the Minimap. Here, you can adjust the size, opacity, and view distance both on foot and while in vehicles (air/ground).
A novel feature in Battlefield 6 is the Interior Zoom toggle. This option introduces an animation effect that shifts the minimap display when transitioning between outdoor and indoor exploration. Some beta players found this effect distracting, so experiment with it to see if you prefer it toggled On or Off.
Additionally, you can opt to change minimap rotation, a valuable feature for those who prefer a fixed map orientation rather than one that rotates with the player’s perspective.
Minimizing Camera Shake and Visual Effects
Battlefield 6 is visually stunning with all its designed effects enabled. However, not every player may wish to retain the default visuals, as some effects can diminish image clarity and hinder enemy identification. For competitive players, the game offers various settings to optimize your experience.
Navigate to Accessibility > Graphics Quality Settings > Camera Effects and click Edit to enter the sub-menu.
Within this section, you can adjust the level of Motion Blur for both the camera and weapon separately, or eliminate it completely. Additional options allow you to disable Chromatic Aberration, minimize Camera Shake, reduce Headbob while sprinting, and customize HUD and crosshair behavior.
Note that toggles for Vignette and Film Grain settings are located under Graphics > Camera Settings.
