OpenAI Launches Advanced AI Agent Operator for ChatGPT Pro Users in Various Countries

OpenAI continues to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence with its new innovations, especially in light of the rising popularity of DeepSeek. Recently, Sam Altman shared insights regarding DeepSeek’s r1 model and hinted at significant upcoming enhancements. Among these is the unveiling of Operator, an advanced AI agent that acts as a personal assistant designed to streamline task management for users. The anticipation surrounding this development has been palpable, and as of Friday, OpenAI has officially announced the rollout of Operator across several countries.

Operator Now Available to ChatGPT Pro Subscribers in Multiple Regions

Responding to the demand for increased access, OpenAI is expanding the availability of its AI agent, Operator, to ChatGPT Pro subscribers in a variety of countries, including Australia, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, India, Canada, South Korea, and the UK, among others. The company’s announcement indicates ongoing efforts to introduce Operator into the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland. This rollout is primarily aimed at regions where access to ChatGPT has already been established.

Operator is now rolling out to Pro users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and most places ChatGPT is available.

Initially introduced in January as a research preview, Operator is designed to enhance user convenience by managing various tasks autonomously, such as booking tickets or making reservations. This service is currently available to paid ChatGPT Pro users, who subscribe to a plan priced at $200 per month.

At this stage, Operator can only be accessed via a dedicated web page, but plans are in place to integrate it more extensively within the ChatGPT platform. In the meantime, users can utilize Operator through a separate browser window to manage their tasks effectively. OpenAI is not alone in the AI agent space; competitors like Google, Rabbit, and Anthropic are also developing their own AI-assisted solutions.

OpenAI has previously highlighted the transformative potential of AI agents, and as major AI companies are now investing heavily in this area, it is clear that users will increasingly turn to these tools for enhanced task management.
