During a recent launch event, OneXPlayer introduced several exciting products, most notably the X1 Air handheld gaming device and the OneXGPU Lite eGPU enclosure.
OneXPlayer Unveils X1 Air Handheld Featuring Intel Lunar Lake, Priced Under $1000
The standout reveal at the event was the X1 Air handheld, a versatile 3-in-1 gaming device. This latest model can function as a handheld console, tablet, or laptop, similar to its predecessor, the X1 Pro, which we’ve previously reviewed. The X1 Air is equipped with two detachable joysticks and a magnetic keyboard dock, enhancing its usability across different formats.

Let’s delve into the specifications of the X1 Air. This device will feature Intel’s Lunar Lake “Core Ultra Series 2″processors, available in the Core Ultra 5 228V and Core Ultra 7 258V options. Both processors are equipped with four performance cores (P-Cores) and four efficiency cores (LP-E cores), offering maximum clock speeds of 4.5 GHz for the Ultra 5 and 4.8 GHz for the Ultra 7.

As for the integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU), the X1 Air adopts the Battlemage architecture. The Ultra 5 is equipped with “Arc 130V, ”featuring 7 Xe2 cores with a peak frequency of 1.85 GHz, whereas the Ultra 7 boasts “Arc 140V, ”with 8 Xe2 cores capping at 1.95 GHz. These advanced GPUs are designed to compete with AMD’s leading RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, often matching or surpassing their performance benchmarks.

The X1 Air is also loaded with other notable features, including:
- 32 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 RAM
- Up to 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage
- A robust 72.77Wh battery
- A 10.95-inch 120Hz touchscreen with a resolution of 2560×1600 and peak brightness of 540 nits
In terms of connectivity, the handheld includes two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a TF 4.0 card slot supporting capacities up to 2 TB at speeds of 300 MB/s, and a Mini SSD slot accommodating up to 1 TB at 4000 MB/s. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2, along with an 8-ohm/1-watt speaker system from Harman.

When it comes to design, the X1 Air maintains a close resemblance to the X1 Pro, measuring 252×163.5×13.5mm and weighing approximately 835g. Notably, it lacks the Oculink port featured in the Pro model. The pricing tiers for the X1 Air are as follows:
- Ultra 5-228V, 32GB+512GB: 6899 RMB (~$950 US)
- Ultra 7-258V, 32GB+1TB: 7999 RMB (~$1100 US)
- Ultra 7-258V, 32GB+2TB: 8599 RMB (~$1200 US)
Introduction of the OneXGPU Lite eGPU
In addition to the handheld device, OneXPlayer announced the OneXGPU Lite eGPU, which integrates the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT. This model is a streamlined version of the original OneXGPU, which includes more powerful RX 7800M GPUs. As anticipated, the new eGPU showcases the latest USB/TB 5.0 technology.

The OneXGPU Lite features an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT, embodying 32 compute units built on the RDNA 3 architecture. As RDNA 4 mobile GPUs have yet to surface, RDNA 3 remains the premier choice for eGPUs and laptops; the RX 7600M XT operates on a 6nm manufacturing process, houses 2048 cores, and achieves a clock speed of up to 2.3 GHz, with a power consumption of 120W. The chip is also equipped with 32 MB of Infinity Cache and features 8 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit bus that operates at 18 Gbps, delivering bandwidth up to 288 GB/s.

While RDNA 4 boasts a number of enhanced features, including FSR 4, the RX 7600M XT continues to provide competitive performance.

The eGPU module is packed with various I/O ports, including 1 USB5 Type-C port capable of delivering up to 65W, 1 PCIe 4.0×4 “OCULink”slot, and a DP 2.0 port. It can support dual monitors and includes a 280W power supply. The product’s dimensions measure 114x116x34.5mm, weighing 493.5g, and features its own cooling system with a blower fan providing 13.6CFM of airflow. The OneXGPU Lite is competitively priced at 3899 RMB or approximately $550.
