Olivia Flowers from Southern Charm Engaged to Alex Williams

Olivia Flowers, known from Southern Charm, became engaged to her long-term partner Alex Williams on September 25 in the heart of New York City. In a discussion with People published on October 4, Williams disclosed that he proposed in front of Flowers’ “parents and many of her close friends”at the Meadow Terrace Suite within the JW Marriott Essex House.

Although he initially used a temporary ring for the proposal, Williams mentioned that Flowers’ custom-designed 4-carat diamond ring, featuring an 18k yellow gold band with a design described as “classic, simple and elegant,”would arrive prior to their engagement celebration.

Prior to her romance with Williams, Olivia was part of Southern Charm’s eighth season and had a relationship with cast member Austen Kroll that concluded in 2022. The two experienced tension during season 9 when Flowers discovered Kroll had become close with their mutual friend Taylor Ann Green and wasn’t truthful about it.

Insights into Olivia Flowers’ Engagement Plans

During the interview with People, Williams shared that he had been meticulously preparing for the proposal for several weeks. While Flowers attended New York Fashion Week, he secretly visited her parents’ home to seek their blessing for marriage.

Understanding the significance of her close relationships with friends and family, Williams felt it was essential to incorporate them into the proposal. He wanted Flowers to experience the love and joy from those who matter most to her. He stated:

“Olivia has such an incredible group of friends, from elementary school through to college, and she’s very close with her parents, so I knew involving them somehow would mean a lot to her.”

Olivia was scheduled to speak at the Project Lyme Gala in New York, and it was Flowers’ mother Robin who suggested coordinating the proposal around that time. Williams praised the JW Marriott Essex House staff and their supportive friends and family for adapting smoothly as plans developed.

In his narrative, Williams noted that Flowers was completely unaware of the proposal plans; he misled her into thinking they were at the venue for a photoshoot. Despite some last-minute chaos, which kept Flowers preoccupied with her Project Lyme speech, she remained blissfully unaware of the impending surprise.

Upon their arrival, Flowers was intent on her branding shoot. As they were midway through, Williams knelt down and proposed. When presenting the ring, he expressed:

“‘Olivia Barbara Ellen Flowers. You’re the girl of my dreams. You became the love of my life. And I would like to ask you: Will you marry me?’”

Flowers celebrated their one-year anniversary on May 13 with an Instagram post detailing her first encounter with Williams. She recounted arriving late at a wedding, where she was escorted to her seat by a “handsome usher.”

Not long after, this same usher, who turned out to be Williams, approached her father to ask for a dance with her. In her post, she shared:

“After arriving late to a wedding (& tripping up the church stairs), I was met by a handsome usher to take me to my seat. Later, that same usher asked my date (my dad) if he could dance with me…A year later and we’re still dancing 🪩(and tripping up stairs). Cheers to stage 5 clinging.”
