The Legion Go 2 from Lenovo represents a bold step forward following the original Legion Go and Legion Go S. The first device in the series showcased the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip, while the Go S targeted budget gamers with the Ryzen Z2 Go. Now, Lenovo has upgraded its handheld gaming lineup with the Legion Go 2, which boasts impressive enhancements and upgraded specifications.

The Legion Go 2 ergonomically improves on its predecessor’s design while offering versatile usage options. Similar to its earlier models, it features removable joysticks, allowing for a customizable gaming experience that can transition seamlessly between handheld, tablet, and PC gaming modes.

Delving into the specifications, the Legion Go 2 is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen Z2 Extreme chips, along with alternative Ryzen Z2 options. The Z2 Extreme utilizes advanced Strix Point APUs with RDNA 3.5 graphics, comprised of 16 Compute Units (CUs).Meanwhile, the Ryzen Z2 is built on the Hawk APUs with RDNA 3 graphics, featuring 12 CUs. Both chips support 8 cores and 16 threads, with the Z2 Extreme benefitting from the Zen 5 architecture, while the Z2 is based on Zen 4.

Other notable specifications include an 8.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1200P, supporting refresh rates up to 144Hz and an impressive brightness of 500 nits (True Black 1000 HDR).In terms of memory, Lenovo has upgraded the RAM to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 compared to the previous model’s 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500.
