Following its significant advancements in areas like AI training, generative AI, and agent-based systems, NVIDIA is now setting its sights on what it terms ‘physical AI’.Recently, the company has been vocal about its ambition to develop humanoid robots, a topic that has gained traction, especially with several innovations from Chinese enterprises like Unitree. Reports from Taiwan Economic Daily indicate that NVIDIA is preparing to venture into the ‘AI robot’ market in the near future, with Foxconn positioned to begin manufacturing these humanoid robots shortly.
As a pivotal player in NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem, Foxconn has achieved prominence for its mass production of advanced AI servers, including the Blackwell and Blackwell Ultra models. During an upcoming event known as Technology Day, scheduled for November, NVIDIA is expected to unveil its groundbreaking solutions for humanoid robots, which will come equipped with large language models (LLMs) and advanced robotic intelligence.
A notable aspect of this development is that Foxconn plans to manufacture these humanoid robots within the United States, alongside its Blackwell Ultra GB300 AI servers. The robots are currently being refined for application in industrial environments. NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, has remarked that ‘physical AI’ is poised to have a more profound impact on society than generative AI or agentic systems, suggesting that robots could significantly influence daily life across both commercial and professional settings.
