NVIDIA has officially introduced the GeForce RTX 5090 D V2, a new variant launched in mainland China, maintaining the original pricing while presenting a modified memory specification.
Launch Details of the GeForce RTX 5090 D V2: Price and Features
The debut of the RTX 5090 D V2 today marks the transition from the previous RTX 5090 D model. This new graphics card was first announced last week and aims to establish itself as the leading choice within the RTX 50 series for gaming. However, to comply with U. S.export regulations, NVIDIA has made certain adjustments that include slower memory performance compared to its predecessor.

As detailed on NVIDIA’s official site, the RTX 5090 D V2 retains numerous specifications from the RTX 5090 D; yet, it comes equipped with a scaled-back GB202-240 die. It showcases 21, 760 CUDA cores, along with 4th Generation Ray Tracing and 5th Generation Tensor cores. However, performance metrics reveal a notable decrease in AI TOPS, with the new GPU offering 2375 compared to 3352 in the original RTX 5090. The memory configuration has also shifted from 32 GB GDDR7 with a 512-bit bus to a 24 GB GDDR7 with a 384-bit bus, causing memory bandwidth to drop from 1792 GB/s to 1344 GB/s—this change aligns with U. S.export stipulations restricting memory bandwidth over 1.4 GB/s.
The operating frequencies have been maintained, featuring a base clock at 2.01 GHz and a boost clock at 2.41 GHz for the standard model. Notably, there will not be a Founders Edition of the RTX 5090 D V2; instead, AIBs (Add-in-Board partners) will have the option to adhere to stock clocks or implement overclocking changes in their models. The TDP remains consistent at 575W, ensuring compatibility with modern gaming setups.
With an official MSRP established at 16, 499 Yuan (approximately US$2, 295), this price point mirrors that of the RTX 5090 D upon its initial release, which struggled to meet demand at MSRP levels. Interestingly, recent reports suggest the new model is accessible at its listed price across various retailers.

Additionally, the GPU has been spotted on the Hong Kong retailer site Faroll, where it is priced starting at 16, 499 Hong Kong dollars—roughly equivalent to 15, 108 Chinese Yuan, translating to about US$200 below the mainland China’s launch price. Since the RTX 5090 is still permissible in Hong Kong, the D V2 offers a significant price advantage, with savings ranging from $700 to $1400 compared to the original RTX 5090. While both models promise similar gaming experiences, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5090 D remain superior options for users prioritizing productivity and AI-centric tasks.
