Recent speculation has been rife regarding the upcoming RTX 50 series GPUs, commonly referred to as the RTX 50 Super. A recent leak involving Seasonic’s PSU calculator has added fuel to the fire, suggesting the potential existence of these “Super”variants.
Seasonic’s PSU Calculator Features GeForce RTX 5070 Super Series
Earlier, we reported that NVIDIA had no plans to roll out any RTX 50 Super series cards in the current year. Sources indicated that the chances of an announcement during CES were slim. However, the latest leak hints that NVIDIA could indeed unveil the RTX 50 Super series at CES. While this development is intriguing, it’s important to approach it cautiously, as the mere presence of these models in the calculator doesn’t guarantee an imminent launch.

According to a report by Videocardz, Seasonic’s PSU calculator has recently updated its drop-down menu to include new GPU options. When selecting NVIDIA as the brand, users can now find both the GeForce RTX 5070 Super and the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Super listed as potential selections, indicating that these “Super”models are indeed in the pipeline.
The anticipation surrounding the RTX 50 Super series has mainly revolved around its rumored enhancements, especially in memory capacity. Reports suggest that these GPUs will incorporate 3 GB GDDR7 memory modules, resulting in a 50% increase in VRAM. This enhancement would allow the GeForce RTX 5070 to feature 18 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, while the RTX 5070 Ti is expected to reach 24 GB. This increase is particularly crucial for gamers and professionals seeking greater longevity and performance in their graphics cards.

In terms of specifications, the Super cards are expected to feature a higher thermal design power (TDP).The RTX 5070 Super is likely to operate with a TDP of 275W, an increase from the 250W rating of its non-Super counterpart. The RTX 5070 Ti Super is projected to have a TDP of 350W, up from the RTX 5070 Ti’s 300W. Though the core components are expected to remain similar across both variants, the heightened power consumption reflects the upgraded capabilities of the Super series.
While it remains uncertain whether NVIDIA will officially launch these GPUs during CES, the recent leak does challenge the previous narrative of their non-existence. NVIDIA may not have intended a formal launch for the RTX 50 Super variants initially, but industry analysts believe that a release could be on the horizon.
