NVIDIA has officially listed the anticipated RTX 5050 graphics card on its website, showcasing comprehensive specifications and pricing details. This addition marks the seventh WeU in the RTX 50 series, with retail availability set for next month.
NVIDIA Unveils GeForce RTX 5050: 2560 CUDA Cores and 8 GB GDDR6 Memory with 130W TDP; Launch Date Set for Early July
Today, NVIDIA not only introduced the laptop variant of the GeForce RTX 5050 but has also confirmed the launch of its desktop counterpart. Initially, the launch was scheduled for the end of July; however, recent reports have accelerated the release to July 1st. You can find the details on the official NVIDIA website.

The product page outlines the key features of the RTX 5050, confirming that it is the seventh member of the Blackwell GeForce RTX 50 family and utilizes the GB207 die. This model is equipped with 2560 CUDA Cores alongside 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a detail in line with previous speculation that NVIDIA would not transition to GDDR7 memory for this series, despite the laptop version boasting faster GDDR7 memory.
With a memory bus width of 128-bit, the total memory bandwidth reaches 320 GB/s, indicating that the GDDR6 memory functions at an impressive 20 Gbps. This advancement signifies a performance jump over both the GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 4050 models.

The RTX 5050 is equipped with 5th generation Tensor Cores and 4th generation Ray Tracing Cores, capable of delivering up to 421 TOPs of AI performance—almost six times that of the GeForce RTX 3050. It has a total graphics power of 130W, with NVIDIA recommending a minimum of a 550W power supply. Consequently, an 8-pin PCIe connector is required for connectivity.
It is unlikely that NVIDIA will offer a Founders Edition for this graphics card; instead, aftermarket manufacturers (AIBs) will create custom versions featuring their cooling solutions. This variability means the overall dimensions and core clock speeds could differ significantly among models. Notably, the reference edition boasts a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz and a boost clock of 2.57 GHz.
The GeForce RTX 5050 desktop GPU is poised for release in the latter half of July, starting with a competitive price point of $249.
