NVIDIA has recently introduced the GeForce RTX 5090D in the Chinese market, mirroring the specifications and pricing of its counterpart, the RTX 5090.
Unveiling the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D: An Identical Offering for China
The GeForce RTX 5090D marks NVIDIA’s foray into the specialized GPU segment for China, designed to adhere to specific market needs. Although initially anticipated as a unique variant, it appears to maintain the same technical specs as the RTX 5090, with minor adjustments likely confined to clock speeds or software limitations.
This new graphics card has already been showcased by various authorized board partners (AIBs) such as GALAX and Colorful. The RTX 5090D utilizes the GB202 GPU architecture, featuring an impressive 21,760 CUDA Cores. It also boasts a memory configuration identical to that of the RTX 5090, equipped with 32 GB of GDDR7 memory capable of operating at a speed of 28 Gbps, resulting in a robust total bandwidth of 1792 GB/s. Custom cooling solutions will be available, but NVIDIA will not be releasing a Founders Edition variant in China.
Previously, NVIDIA released the RTX 4090D as a specialized variant for China, which featured reduced CUDA and Tensor cores, limited overclocking capabilities, and a more conservative Total Graphics Power (TGP) configuration. Some variations of the RTX 4090D still operated at the maximum 450W TGP. However, with the RTX 5090D, it’s encouraging that the core specifications will remain consistent, potentially allowing users to enhance performance through BIOS modifications once the GPUs are widely available.
Custom variations of the RTX 5090D won’t be constrained; for instance, GALAX offers a 1-Click OC model featuring a tri-fan, three-and-a-half-slot design, while Colorful plans to release two cooling options: the Neptune (Liquid Cooling) and Vulcan (Air Cooling).
Pricing Overview for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D
The RTX 5090D will adopt the same MSRP as the RTX 5090, specifically tailored for the Chinese market. This translates to an MSRP of approximately $1999 USD, or around 14,999 RMB, inclusive of taxes. Custom models are expected to be priced slightly higher due to their enhanced specifications.
